restoring my ps1 system help
restoring my ps1 system help
I pulled my ps1 out of storage and it had a couple of scuff marks on it and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on fixing them?
Re: restoring my ps1 system help
Yeah, a picture would help.
If the scuffs aren't any physical dents but smudges from some outside crap then may I recommend using nail polish removal. I used it to remove some black stains that where on my Dreamcast awhile back.

Just be careful with that. I think it can misshape plastic if used excessively. I remember trying it on a SNES and it made the plastic really dull/smooth in the spot I had applied it.LentFilms wrote:Yeah, a picture would help.

Two words-------Magic eraser. Mr Clean is the best one, although there are generics. Good luck.
Re: restoring my ps1 system help
here is a pic of the three marks on it.

Magic eraser (don't press to hard, its like very fine sand paper) MAY work or that. Unless that black is from under the grey.

Re: restoring my ps1 system help
the last two pics, it looks like they are under the grey... the first one looks like just needs to be cleaned.

Maybe go the chemical route? LiftOff2 works well. Concur with others, looks like the plastic under the finish.fuctfuct wrote:Magic eraser (don't press to hard, its like very fine sand paper) MAY work or that. Unless that black is from under the grey.

You could always use these blemishes as an excuse to paint your console. Black PS1s look pretty rad.
