Anyone collect them? also i know where i can get a Ice Blue one for $15 and its in excellent shape, is it worth picking up?
Never had a Gameboy Pocket, went from a Original Gray one to a Atomic Purple GBC.
Gameboy Pockets
Re: Gameboy Pockets
I like the pocket, the slim design is awesome. Think Game Boy Color slim but no roundness at all.
The screen is eh, very dark gray tones and a lot of blur.
Still a nice system if you are into classic Game Boy collecting/playing or just want to round out your Nintendo collection. $15 isn't bad, though I'd say try and get them closer to $10.

I don't have one, but my friend does and I got a gameboy light. We tested all our different models out. If you're into collecting and want one or more of each of the models, then yeah, the price is good imo. The Gameboy light is very similar. As far as performance, there's a lot of audio tinniness (both through the speaker and headphones) vs an original and the screen is bad vs the others after it. The plusses are the whiter screen and the size, but they don't really make it worthwhile if you just want to play a game.
Re: Gameboy Pockets
I absolutely love my pocket. A Gameboy Light is high on my wishlist, but sadly they're just too expensive. I think it has the most comfortable form factor and best aesthetics of the original Gameboy series, and the screen is a marked step up from the DMG-01. I play mine at work all the time.

I got a yellow one no too long ago, it's good if you still want to play games on the go, the battery lasts a LOT plus you get a slider that changes the darkness in the screen, I'd say you should totally pick it up, wether you just want to collect it or for playing purposes.

Wrong! The screen is actually way bigger than the original and also less blurry due to faster LCD. The only disadvantage is the thinner sound but if you aren't a chiptune artist then won't notice much.
The price seems low to me. There are 2 factors that determine the price.
-Pockets come in two versions basically. With or without power indicator led.
-This is the age Nintendo started manufacturing their products in China. But still not all of them so a made in Japan model 2 (led) is not so hard to find.
I love the Pocket and have many of them. I have a GB Light Famitsu Skeleton edition and this is the most beautiful piece of hardware junk i ever came across. Unfortunately the screen is the worst in the series.
