I'd be totally pleased if they'd just release a less glitchy official version of Sonic Megamix, with CD-quality sound.Jrecee wrote:ninjainspandex wrote:why cant they make sonic 4 as good as generations.... it just baffles the mind. just get some random high school fangamers to make sonic 4 and you will have an amazing game.

Does anyone else miss games before they had to be patched constantly? you never had to buy a Genesis or SNES game more than once to fix a game breaking bug, So glad these companies cant tamper with my retro games.

Sonic 2 was revised twice after production. For some God-forsaken reason though Sega only ports the initial release.Hazerd wrote:Does anyone else miss games before they had to be patched constantly? you never had to buy a Genesis or SNES game more than once to fix a game breaking bug, So glad these companies cant tamper with my retro games.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 Announced
I just tried out the trial version of E2.... werent they supposed to fix the physics and return to the mega drive/genesis physics? What the hell, I cant see any difference what so ever between this and E1
The homing attack is still there and the character animation is still fugly. I need to do some testing, but it seems like all those promises were a load of bullcrap. If there is any change between E1 and E2, it seems to be very minor. Despite Sonic Generations, I'm starting to agree with Yahtzee's idea of taking Sonic behind the shed and putting him out of his misery.
Thank God for modern technology that allows developers to publish unfinished games on consolesHazerd wrote:you never had to buy a Genesis or SNES game more than once to fix a game breaking bug, So glad these companies cant tamper with my retro games.
So much stupid in one post that it hurts. Exactly that kind of uncritical fanboy attitude is what kills a good game franchise and makes lazy developers do half-assed poor games that ride purely on nostalgia factor&IP namedreamcast4ever83 wrote:I love Sega and all there glory anyone who does not sucks and i don't like them

...you guys aren't trying to actually insist that game breaking bugs never existed before patching on consoles was popular are you?Menegrothx wrote:Thank God for modern technology that allows developers to publish unfinished games on consolesHazerd wrote:you never had to buy a Genesis or SNES game more than once to fix a game breaking bug, So glad these companies cant tamper with my retro games.

Of course not. There just isnt any pressure to make your game "complete" when you release it anymore as you can just patch it up later, so even good games these days can get patched after the release.AppleQueso wrote: ...you guys aren't trying to actually insist that game breaking bugs never existed before patching on consoles was popular are you?

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 Announced
There's a huge difference between something small getting through (as in only a handful of bugs, even if they are game breaking) and a sorry mess that many games are today, and companies saying they will patch them later IF they sell enough copies (no reason to risk wasting any extra money on beta testing and solving bugs if the game isn't going to make its money now, right?)AppleQueso wrote: ...you guys aren't trying to actually insist that game breaking bugs never existed before patching on consoles was popular are you?

I hate all of you seriously, you're never happy fix this fix that than they Do and before you even play the whole game you start criticizing it. Sonic ep2 never had a chance. They did fix it. The changed the graphics engine which looks amazing and all the little things like spinning up a hill and staying in a ball. They did everything and the game rocks. What does not rock is Sega's shitty non supportive fan base so go play something else and stop playing Sega games seriously you guy's won't be happy until Sega does not exist anymore. Then who are you gonna have to fuck with..Menegrothx wrote:I just tried out the trial version of E2.... werent they supposed to fix the physics and return to the mega drive/genesis physics?
