Danmaku Death on android

Post by dlmvii »

If you have a decent android phone it's a shmup worth trying. I was pleasantly surprised at least. It's a boss rush game, and it's been updated with new bosses quite a bit already. Controls surprisingly well, just make sure you remap the bomb to an actual button.

Nice, I just got a new android yesterday so I'll check this out. I suck at bullet hells under even the best circumstances though...

What did you end up getting for a phone? I meant to suggest staying away from HTC phones. Everyone I know that has one hates theirs and there is a ton of bloat software I've never been able to remove from anyones phone.

I almost just deleted the game after about 10 minutes of deaths but I figured I shouldn't be playing it while I'm tired. Good times but damn if it ain't hard as hell.

I got a Galaxy S II ("Epic 4G Touch".. The splintering in the Galaxy line is really ridiculous.) They had an early model of HTC's new EVO 4G LTE and the salesman and I had a good laugh at the build quality. It felt like the "kickstand" on the back was about to snap off. I haven't heard much good about HTC phones either, besides.

I really like the Google Account implementation, creepily omniscient as it is. I signed in to the Marketplace, had all my email synced within seconds, and when I clicked on the Danmaku Death page in my browser it already knew what model phone I had and told me it was capable of playing the game.

Nice choice that's what I got. I've never been able to figure out what the hole at the top of the left side of the phone is for it's just weird. Also the black bar at the top of the screen hold the right side for a few seconds then hold the left side for a fee seconds if you don't know about that yet. Best feature I've seen in a phone.

It's by far the most popular Android phone, and there's a very good reason for that. I really wish that a more recent phone could hop it but the market is pretty much stagnating in the zeitgeist of the iPhone and its iterations. There's not much drive for competition outside of bigger screens and better cameras.

Is that supposed to be some sort of brightness control? The phone definitely has a bit of a learning curve to it so I'm still working out some of the kinks. Wish I didn't have to agree to 8 different terms and conditions every time I launch an app for the first time, but so far that's the only complaint I can level at Android. Coming from webOS, it's a huge step up. Oh, and if you pull off the battery cover it should be pretty obvious what that hole is for.

Not to revive this thread but I'm noticing more and more shmups by the day on Android.. Raiden Sky Force and Magical Cannon Wars are two that come to mind..

I just took a look at Raiden Sky Force. Looks pretty good, I think I'll download this one when I get my Android Phone. As far as I'm aware, this doesn't seem to be an official Raiden entry. :(
