SG-1000 - what do they go for?

Post by ImportBoy »

I'm considering picking up an SG-1000 (or one of its varients; no preference really to me). Does anyone know what they typically go for?

Way to damn much.

I have an SG 1000mk2 and 3 but not the original. IMO the original SG1000 is the coolest design ever in a Sega console. The MK2 has the coolest "quote" ever stamped right on the front of the console making it really cool too.

I bought my MK2 and 3 in Japan for around $40 a piece with A/V cables and power no box. The past month I have been trying to buy an SG1000 on ebay and the exact same thing has happened. Some guy in Spain continually buys all of them. After the auction was over for the last 5 I tried to bid on in Ebay he was the winner. He bids them up over $350 dollars or so.

There is currently one on ebay for about $50 with box. When it hits the final hour I expect it will hit around $300. Too much for a console I would only be buying for looks. SG1000 mk3 might be your best bet at getting one with most of its accessories for a sane price.

BTW, these may or may not work on NTSC TV's. They are RF and might work on Channel 94.

Aren't there computer versions of that system like SC-3000 or something like that or am I thinking of something else entirely?

Strange - I wonder what that guy from Spain does with them? $350 is way to much. SG-1000 MK3 is basically the Master System right?

yup the 3000 is basically a Master System inside. However it is backwards compatible with SG1000,2000, Sega My Card, and a tape drive!
