I've always wanted to see North by Northwest. I should pick up the blu ray.

That's how I watched all of these (and how I watch most movies I review these days). I had only seen it about 15 years ago on a small TV on VHS. The jump to Blu-ray was mesmerizing.AppleQueso wrote:I've always wanted to see North by Northwest. I should pick up the blu ray.

I had this feeling (mesmerized) with the Blu-Ray for the Sleeping Beauty (Disney). So colorful and beautiful. I watched it several times as a kid and watching it on Blu-Ray was insane.dsheinem wrote:That's how I watched all of these (and how I watch most movies I review these days). There's just something about well-done transfers of older films to blu ray that manage to be absolutely breathtaking. More often than not, they're far more impressive to me than newer films.

That's how I felt when I watched the Blu-Ray of Snow White. I kept pausing it just so I could stare at all the pretty new detail that were completely lost on the VHS transfer. Those old Disney animated films look hella awesome on Blu-Ray.Stark wrote:I had this feeling (mesmerized) with the Blu-Ray for the Sleeping Beauty (Disney). So colorful and beautiful. I wish MOONRISE KINGDOM would hurry the hell up and open in the States. Been looking forward to this for years.

Yeah, the trailer has been out since January and although I'm not a Wes Anderson fanboy, the thought of Bruce Willis and Bill Murray exchanging quips makes me giddy. Plus, I have nothing to screen for the rest of the month so I'm movie hungry right now.
Oh! But I did pick up T2 Blu-Ray for about $8 at Best Buy.
Game on!
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I'd like to think I am, but I haven't seen Life Aquatic or The Fantastic Mr. Fox, so it's hard to claim that. I'm a big fan of Royal Tenebaums and Bottle Rocket and Rushmore though.Luke wrote:... although I'm not a Wes Anderson fanboy..

I thought Luke would jump on me for the Captain America and Bridesmaids reviews. Glad to see he now knows the error of his ways.
