Video Card supports HDMI , XBOX360 HDMI Cable ok to use ?

howdy racketboy members , as some of you may know i have ordered a new PC.

The Video Card supports HDMI out and i was wondering if i can use my XBOX360 HDMI Cable to hook it up to my TV ?


any info helps

You really should be using the premium Monster HDMI cable. Make sure you get the one with the platinum connectors. Spend at least $1000 for it.

Technically some are rated for higher data rates than others, but that's usually only relevant if you're trying to use 3D.


You can use it, and most video cards support HDMI audio as well (it'll show up as a second audio device though, so you may need to toggle that).

Any HDMI cable is fine with decent wires that won't break under the insulation. The expensive ones fall in the same marketing hype as an "HD" antenna to pick up digital over the air broadcast.

Besides the unnecessary expense, there is another disadvantage of the fat cables attached to the HD hanging high on the wall. Multiplied by the multiple connections, the weight has to be murder on the connectors.
