Do you still play Fighters with friends?
Do you still play Fighters with friends?
I'm just curious as to who here actually has friends to play Fighters with. Or do we all play against the CPU and wish we had a social life that supported playing against others?
Re: Do you still play Fighters with friends?
Every time I play a fighting game with friends it's always "This is too hard! Let's play Smash!"
I've probably lost a solid year of my life to Super Smash Bros 64 alone.

yes, during our bay area racketboy meet-ups and whenever my friends here like mjmjr25 or noiseredux are available online (PSN) to play.
maybe that Thursday fight night thread needs to rise from the grave.
it's actually more fun playing against friends than the cpu. cpu tends to get repetitive no matter how hard they are, while playing against real people take adjustments and improvement.

sev, do you wanna take over organizing it? I've just been too busy to keep up with it.
Re: Do you still play Fighters with friends?
Actually I play against my stepbrother a couple of times a month, though that will change soon as he is moving to Hawaii. I need a PS3 with internet capability for Thurs. Fight Night.
Re: Do you still play Fighters with friends?
I'll occasionally play them with friends that still live locally.
I have other friends that, if they happen to be in town, it's not uncommon that we'll wind up playing some.
Even then, a lot of times it's just a matter of playing something that's come out recently, or that someone hasn't tried before. Usually we wind up trying all the characters, or using random select. I don't think any of us practice with particular characters to be truly competitive with one another anymore.

I have a couple friends that come over every now and then to play games with me. One just makes me rage quit since he is the cheapest son of a bitch ever and won't play anything that doesn't have air blocking. Seriously he blocks entire matches so lame.
Actually after gong out to the bar with my girlfriend the other night I started playing with my modded xbox she came up and said she wanted to play so I pulled up some mame beat em ups. After awhile she asked if I had any fighting games so we started playing some kof among other things. She loved it and actually beat me a few times too.
And of course there is everyone here on psn that likes to get down too.

I've been stuck with the cpu a lot lately. I do have one friend that's into fighters like me, but we don't live very close together right now. I'm really hoping to get a PS3 this summer for online fighters, it's just a question of whether or not I can afford it.

Re: Do you still play Fighters with friends?
I really only have my neighbor from across the street to play fighters with. Everyone else from school either doesn't play fighters period, or own a different console. So most of the time, it's random people online.
As for the Thursday fight night, how about you guys change the planning? Instead of making a schedule for what games are played when, how about on Thursday, somebody just hop on the thread and recommend what game they wanna play. People who feel like it can jump on in. This eliminates the need for organizing and is more flexible for people who might have something come up.
