I found Dux really frustrating. That said, if Redux comes out on PSN... I'll get it.

You know a console is amazing when it still has games released for it almost 12 years later.

Hey, look, a SHMUP for the Dreamcast! Because if there was one thing the Dreamcast was lacking, it was Shoot Em' Ups!

This is true. While I do appreciate what Neo Geo Dev Team is doing with the Dreamcast, I really wish they would mix things up a bit. I have not played Dux or Last Hope, but I hear they are fantastic. However, the Dreamcast has many neglected genres like party games, RTS, and 2D platformers, that the indie scene could be expanding but have not. Sure Gunlord is kind of an 2D platformer, but in reality it is just a SHMUP on land. A game came out a couple years ago that was a multiplayer based party game called Cool Herders, but that received very little attention, though I hear it is quite good. I tried finding a copy of it, but as expected, no dice.

What I would really love to see the Dreamcast indie community do is make some good 2D Mario or Sonic type platformers. The system has a few good 3D platformers like Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Super Magnetic Neo, Kao the Kangaroo, and a few others. However, 2D platformers were REALLY neglected on the system. In fact, off the top of my head, I can't think of a single one released here in the US.

I think the issue is that it's really just the one group, Neo Geo Dev Team, making games for the Dreamcast. And they are a (predominantly anyways) shmup based company. If Cave was making a bunch of shmups for the DC would you complain about them not branching out? No, because they're a shmup dev, it's just what they do.

That being said, I would love to see some other devs jump in with other styles of games, but for now, I'm more than happy with what I can get.
My Want List!

Consoles: Sega Master System, NES Toploader, Genesis/32X, Sega CDX, SNES, 3DO FZ-1, Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64, Sega Dreamcast, Sony PS2, Nintendo Gamecube, Xbox Halo Edition, Wii, PS3
Handhelds: Atari Lynx, Sega Nomad, Neo Geo Pocket Color, GBC (Atomic Purple, Pokemon Edition), GBA (Pink OG, Silver SP, Spongebob SP+), DS (Phat, iXL), 3DS, PSP (1000, Go)

If they make it to $60k (at $40k now) in 9 days, they're going to add 2 player support. What what! If you're hesitant, now's the time to go for it!

I think this hits the nail good. Would just need a new dev. Any way I am leaving town tomorrow and can't make the deadline any chance some could spot me a copies till I get back. I can give interest, trade or give some collateral. SOLVED THANKS

I hope I'll (meaning my family) be able to get this before August 12. If so, definitely added to birthday list.
