You forgot bigoted hate monger and drug addict.BoringSupreez wrote:Stealth Ceremony for Rush Limbaugh — and His Bust.
Local news story that's of interest to me. Apparently, Limbaugh was in Jefferson City today (which is right about where I live) so that he could be inducted into the Hall of Famous Missourians. Our local democrats are upset about it, but regardless of your political views I don't see how Limbaugh doesn't qualify. His radio show is huge, he's from Missouri, therefore he should be in our hall of fame.
Do you know if red fox is in that hall of fame? Because if he's not I'm fixing to call someone a dummy and feign a heart attack.
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
As much as I hate Limbaugh, he certainly qualifies a famous Missourian and I have no problem with him in their HOF. I just find it amusing that one of the most clever wits in American history (Twain) and one of the most arrogant twits of all time (Limbaugh) might share space in the same hall.flex wood wrote:You forgot bigoted hate monger and drug addict.BoringSupreez wrote:Stealth Ceremony for Rush Limbaugh — and His Bust.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Well, given that we were discussing a political commentator already, I refrained from listing another one (or Fox News)
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Limbaugh and Olbermann are not equivalents any more than FOX News and MSNBC are equivalents that somehow cancel each other out. They are the same in that they are passionate about their poiltical position, but I can't think of many instances of Olbermann''s commentary sliding into hate speech. Limbaugh does it regularly.Ack wrote:Or Keith Olbermann.sabrage wrote:Hate sells. Just look at the internet.
To put it another way: of course not everyone in the Republican party is a member of a hate group, racist, homophobic, bigoted, etc. (in fact very few are) BUT if you are a member of a hate group, racist, homophobic, bigoted, etc. than you most likely vote Republican.
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
You mean his years of parading conservative and right-wing thinkers as the "Worst People in the World" has nothing to do with his intention of diminishing their careers or ideas through blatant insult while completing disregarding the point? Not to mention that he even ended up fired for his donating to the opposition and was then again fired for his poor attitude. If he's not a bad seed...well, I'd say you need to rethink what a bad seed is.dsheinem wrote:Limbaugh and Olbermann are not equivalents any more than FOX News and MSNBC are equivalents that somehow cancel each other out. And for the record, a Newsweek correspondent just compared Ann Romney's defense of motherhood to the Nazis on MSNBC. I'd say they're pretty hateful in their own right.

You mean like the Black Panthers, most ethnic-based street gangs or prison gangs, most ethnic minority Christian organizations, etc.?dsheinem wrote:To put it another way: of course not everyone in the Republican party is a member of a hate group, racist, homophobic, bigoted, etc. (in fact very few are) BUT if you are a member of a hate group, racist, homophobic, bigoted, etc. than you most likely vote Republican.

That awkward moment whn most of the TAB members I know happen to be Democrats. The only reason they didn't vote for Obama is because... well, y'know.Ack wrote:You mean like the Black Panthers, most ethnic-based street gangs or prison gangs, most ethnic minority Christian organizations, etc.?dsheinem wrote:To put it another way: of course not everyone in the Republican party is a member of a hate group, racist, homophobic, bigoted, etc. (in fact very few are) BUT if you are a member of a hate group, racist, homophobic, bigoted, etc. than you most likely vote Republican.
