I really wish there were more shmups like this. I the minimalist approach makes it so much easier to tell what's going on at all times. I usually get distracted by the background in most shmups to the point that they're unplayable for me but I'm able to just blast through this game easy enough.
Also everyone should get this game at 5 dollars while they can.

Re: PixelJunk Sidescroller
I definitely think it's a lot of fun. Well worth $5. I'm not really as good at horizontal shmups as I am at verts. And it's really weird trying to get used to playing this game as a sort of survival-and-best-score-for-one-level affair. I've gotten so used to playing for score on 1CC lately. But like RSG pointed out, the leaderboards for each level are awesome so you can compare with yr friends.
I'm up to the 2nd Sector now. I found 1-3 to be really really tricky. But the boss battle in 1-4 was a breeze by comparison.

I think this game is on sale for $1 for today only.
I don't have a ps3 though, so I can't confirm it.

PJ Monsters is awesome. Well worth whatever I paid for it way back when, and a bargain for $1.mjmjr25 wrote:That's Pixel Junk Monsters, for $1.dunpeal2064 wrote:I think this game is on sale for $1 for today only.

damn it felt good to be #1 on the friends list. Haha. I'll get at 1-1 again.
Re: PixelJunk Sidescroller
I grabbed the 3-in-1 bundle. I only really wanted Monsters (love tower defenses) but if the other two are a toss 50 cents each isn't bad.
If PSN does more Steam-style sales like this, I might actually buy something more than twice a year.
