I am intrigued and will give this shot. However, I am not realistically sure how much progress I will make. Diablo 3 is arriving in a few days and I will be getting full swing into the next iterations of NCAA and Madden towards the end of summer. But here it goes:
1. Shining Force 3 Scn 1 (In progress)
2. Shining Force 3 Scn 2
3. Shining Force 3 Scn 3
4. Shadowrun (Genesis) (in progress)
5. Ys II (PSP) (in progress)
6. Metroid (maybe Super Metroid if thats what everyone else will be playing)
7. Splatterhouse (TG-16)
8. Sonic Adventure (DC)
9. Mega Man (NES)
10. Desert Strike (Genesis or GBA)
Before too may of you freak out, I have atleast played most of these, I just never beat any on this list... The only 2 I have never played though are Splatterhouse and Sonic Adventure.

I kinda want to start on this already, but I'm holding off til I play through Red Steel 2, as I said I would. On the plus side, Sakura Wars should be beaten in the next day or so, so I'll be playing through Red Steel in no time. I hope it's not too long
Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Challenge 2012 - make your lists!
So I am thinking I'll play through Ocarina of Time on the GCN Zelda collection so that I can play it downstairs on Wii or upstairs on the GCN. Is there any downside to playing this version? Not using the N64 controller seems like a giant fucking upside.
Also, I ended up snagging a CE of Diablo 3, so I may be the first person in history to try and beat Diablo 3 (I'll start this week) > Diablo 2 (towards the middle of this challenge) > Diablo (maybe for horror-tober?).

If I recall there's a glitch on that version that freezes up the game unless you set the controller vibration to off.dsheinem wrote:So I am thinking I'll play through Ocarina of Time on the GCN Zelda collection so that I can play it downstairs on Wii or upstairs on the GCN. From what I understand the emulation of Ocarina of Time, whilst not perfect, doesn't really have any major flaws. Which disc is it - the one with Ocarina, Majora and the two NES games, or the one with Ocarina & Master Quest? I had no problems with the Master Quest disc from experience.dsheinem wrote:So I am thinking I'll play through Ocarina of Time on the GCN Zelda collection so that I can play it downstairs on Wii or upstairs on the GCN. As for the controller vibration issue, I heard that was a problem with Majora's Mask, not Ocarina, but It's worth noting anyway.

good to know on the rumble - does the original game use the rumble pack? is this the game where there was controversy over missing things via emulation because rumble didn't work? Knowing for sure if that applies to Ocarina would be helpful...
I have "Collector's Edition" 4 games in 1 collection for the GCN.

The original game doesn't use the Rumble Pak, but if I remember correctly, the Collector's Edition version has built-in rumble.dsheinem wrote:good to know on the rumble - does the original game use the rumble pack? is this the game where there was controversy over missing things via emulation because rumble didn't work? I don't believe there were any emulation problems whatsoever with Ocarina of Time; only with Majora's Mask.
I played through the entirety of OoT on the Collector's Edition and didn't feel like anything was missing either, so that too.

I think I might be cheating by picking games I'm already well in to, BUT they're ridiculous RPGs so it will take me a while to beat them yet. My goal is to have them completed by the time I go to PAX.
1. Skyward Sword (almost done- I'm past the whale, found the first dragon already)
2. Lost Odyssey (on disc 3, at that annoying part where you are forced to switch from group to group without any consistency, this part has SERIOUSLY impeded my interest in the game, but I want to see it through regardless)
3. Xenogears (stuck at sewer horror, need to grind a bit so that I don't get raped in random encounters every time I go down to the second level)
4. Chrono Trigger (at the first fight with Magus)
5. Shadow of the Colossus (I'm at... I believe #8?)
and then some games that I just want to play through that should be relatively quick ones...
6. Shadowgate NES
7. Shadowgate N64
8. Sub-Terrania (gotten pretty far in this one, never actually beat it, yet)
9. I just picked up Starship Titanic, complete (even still has the demo casette tape for the audio book) from Value Village... that should be doable in one or two sittings
10. Strange Journey... I'm at sector C, whatever it's called, but I will probably just bring this with me TO pax...
