Get used to controlling Melia. You'll need it soon
What do you mean by that?? I didn't find anything strange or difficult about that character...
There's a part in the game where you control exclusively her, so you need to know how to use her. I always stuck with Shulk Reyn and Sharla so I had to level up her arts and equip her gear right then
Was that towards the end when her brother got transformed? It's been about 6~7 months since I played and I can't remember...

Yeah it's long but it never felt tedious or pointless to me. Sign of a great game. :D

No, it's during her "test" to become empress of the high entia. So around 1/3rd of the way?

Here here. In fact, in order to get any progress done in the game, I'd sit down to play with "specific" plans. As in "Now I'll progress the main story", "now I will do side quests", "now I will craft better gems, gift stuff to my characters to raise affinity and ect. ect.

So much content, and all of it good. Unlike The Last Story. This game deserves at least 5 million sales. Wonder how much it has sold :( (don't anyone dare link vgchartz please)

Yeah I vaguely recall that but I don't remember it being particularly hard. Still fun~

I know... VGC... Supposedly they said it's about 620,000 worldwide but who knows. 5 million? For the game that I think is the best RPG since the SNES days, 20 million feels good but sadly, I know it'll never hit that, possibly not even a million. I hope Monolith gets to do another RPG on the Wii-U.

Also pulling this out of the hat, but I think I read analysts said it was the third best selling game in April.

Either way, I think it's been a mild success and it's always funny to see the US move more numbers than Japan even with a JRPG...

About 30 hours in myself at the Eyrth Sea now and yeah, although I think it is a bit overwhelming off and on, nothing about the game has felt like a drag. I really love how the environments change so drastically, but it all feels natural too... like none of these area's seem misplaced. Definitely a very dense and beautiful world they've created here. The OST continues to impress, one of the best I've heard in years. I love piling up the characters too since it makes the story more grand and cutscenes more interesting, it's also great that every character is amazing, I even like Riki a lot (not sure about using him though). It seriously is probably the best JRPG I've played since, I'd say Suikoden V and the Xenosaga's.

I've heard similar disappointments about Last Story, ZeroAX. I'm still going to get it, but yeah I was always way more interested in Xenoblade the whole time anyways, and it's completely delivered. I have a hard time finishing huge games sometimes nowadays, like Skyrim or whatever... but since Xenoblade is still a bit linear at its core with a constant driving and good narrative, that'll probably keep me going.

Heropon Ricki is VERY COOOOOOL.

Seriously love that guy :). Well, I loved all the characters bar one, but I will wait till you get further in the game so I don't spoil any of the plot for you :P.

And yes, the game is pretty dull. Ok perhaps I am being too harsh on it, specially since I enjoyed FF13, but Xenoblade just set the bar soooo high for me. It's to JRPGs of the past 2 generations, what Final Fantasy 6/Chrono Trigger was to 8 and 16-bit JRPGs, and The Last Story is just an average JRPG with a very weird battle system.

It reminds me off Resonance of Fate. Heck, it even allows full customization of your character's clothes like RoF, which to me is proof that the game designers had VERY wrong priorities (let's make our game even more about style and looks instead of substance. While the guys at monolith soft used their art budget to create amazing beautiful vistas and amazing game worlds......Xenoblade I <3 you).

I think it will still have a nice value as a collector's item (specially since I got the limited edition) but the game itself is bland. I will beat it once and never touch it again. Xenoblade on the other hand...

Finally arrived today - the Royal Mail are utterly useless - Just spent the last couple of hours playing it, and it is fantastic. It looks great, and plays great so far. Can't wait to get stuck into the rest of it.

RE the controller options - I do find the camera a bit awkward with the wiimote so I'll keep an eye out for a Classic Controller. Thing is I want white pro, and that never got released here so they are harder to find. Ebay is just full of cheap knockoffs.

I like how this game only gets better and better.

Up to the High Entia stuff, so everything is getting a lot bigger in scope and more interesting. And the art direction still blows my face off. Who would've thought one of the most gorgeous games this gen would be on the Wii...

Yeah the camera was the main thing for me sticking with the classic. Besides, it makes it really easy to view and gaze at the beautiful world in the game. :D

Honestly, I wouldn't mind someone telling me, up to the Eryth Sea / Entia stuff, about how far into the game is this? A simple percentage or something is all I probably need. Spoilers I guess if others don't want to see it.

I was wondering if there'd be a lot more going on character wise eventually, like the other Xeno games... that is certainly the case at this point and I'm completely loving it (how many times have I said that is this thread? lol).

Anyone else have problems with this game?
The last couple times I played it the game would take 5 or more minutes to completely boot up. I would load a game and the main character and setting would load, then after about 5 minutes the NPCs and enemies would finally show up. The machine was running as loud as a dreamcast.

Then today I was fighting Xord and the cut scenes were stuttering horibly. After beating him and gaining two new party members the game gave me the disc error asking me to eject and restart. I complied and the game then wouldn't load giving me the same error. I tried another game to see if it was the Wii and Bit.Trip Complete loaded just fine. I tried Xenoblade again, loaded up my save file, beat Xord again with no stuttering and all seems fine.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? I ask this because someone elsewhere said that this is a larger than average Wii game and that may have caused errors. I don't know if I believe that so I am asking people I trust.
