Losing interest

Everybody gets burnout. It's normal. There are tens of millions of threads on this very forum about it (probably half of them are from me ).

Go find something else to do for a few weeks and come back. If it's the only hobby you have, that's likely why.

For the past year or so, I've been flip-flopping between video gaming and DVD collecting. When I get tired of one, I go to the other. It works well for me. Always a good idea to have a second hobby.

yes a second hobby will solve this problem. I go from being obsessed with skateboarding to gaming/collecting. usually they go in month long phases. keeps things fresh.

I normally flick between old games and new games, that helps break it up a bit, but more hobbies definitely helps. I have periods where I watch loads of films, occasionally read a book and then go back to gaming for a bit.

I've also found lately that I'm getting the urge to play games that I finished long ago. This is cool as this hasn't happened since the 1990's. I've found this pretty exciting, playing thru a game that I already mastered is pure fun, no frustration factor of a learning curve.

Threads like this actually make me pretty excited for the Wii-U. It may just be a tablet controller, or a home console version of the DS (depending on your own personal take) but at least it's something mildly innovative for designers to toy with.

I'm pumped for this year's E3.

Everyone experiences this from time to time, whether it's from actually playing games too much, or just spending a lot in one or a few sittings and going "shit, I should take a break from this." But it's completely normal - take a few weeks, or hell, even a month or so, off from it, do something else - work out, watch movies, do something else that would normally be time filled with gaming/collecting, and eventually you'll walk past your collection, see a game you loved playing, pop it in, and get right back into the swing of things.

I am sorry to say that I am on the team that was disappointed by the Wii and was hoping for more innovation than shaking wiimote onMario Party. As for for ps3 and xbox , I am not sure what morecan we ask for. They look too good already. I think this is the first generation where the hardware in the end of its lifetime still looks amazing like its first day if release and not outdated. There will be hardly any real jump. I am guessing consiles should be launched cheaply so they become as mainstream as tvs worldwide , thats about it

As somebody with a gaming PC, I'll say it again.

The graphics can get much, much better.
