Hyper Duel (Saturn mode only) - Hi-Scores

The arcade release and exclusive Saturn mode are different enough to be two separate games. Someone else can make a dedicated Hyper Duel arcade thread.

Quick run before bed. Haven't played this in eons! Thanks for reminding me how frustratingly fun this game is. Probably a bad habit, but I rarely transform into the robot. The ship is good enough.

This game really can be frustrating. I always make a stupid mistake that I should have seen coming from a mile away.

Definitely use the mech form. It allows you to spray fire at waves of enemies.

Here's my highest score.



I don't remember the details since I got the score awhile ago, but it was at the very end so I think that makes it stage 8? I got the score on a run where I cleared the game with default settings, but I know it wasn't my clear score because the last boss took my last credit. I only use robot form when fighting bosses, other than that I find the ship to be preferable. I usually pick Lisa as well. Lloyd deals some crazy damage but I prefer speed over damage in most shmups.

Nice one. I've never gotten past stage 6 on a single credit. And I too prefer Lisa. I think her options have a slight edge over the other two as they shoot through walls.

Keith's spread shot in ship form makes several sections easier for him than anyone else, though.

I have been experimenting with Lloyd. He has a lot of potential, but you have to constantly switch between ship and mech with him. His options deal out a lot of damage in both forms.

2nd run of the night, surprisingly. I just couldn't seem to work through the 6th stage boss. Fuckin' bullet barf.

The 2nd place score below is from over a week ago. I smashed it.
