I recently tried to play a Region 1 DVD on a MULTI-REGION DVD PLAYER, but everytime it loads up, I get stuck with a 'Wrong Region' message. This is odd because:
1. I'm using a Multi-Region DVD Player.
2. I've played another - or so the seller said, though it doesn't say which region on the back of the case - Region 1 only DVD on it.
At first I thought it might be that the television isn't compatible with NTSC DVDs, but having later tried it on the television I played the other NTSC DVD on, I know that can't be the problem.
The box for the DVD Player says it plays both PAL and NTSC DVDs. It has an option to switch between the two on the remote. The DVD I want to play clearly says NTSC on the back of the case - so there is no doubt that the DVD Player is multi-region.
So, what's the deal?
