What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Ogre is one of the simplest wargames that you can seriously play for the rest of your life. Case in point my $10 copy I bought in 07 has over 1000 plays. Car Wars is simply Madmax in boardgame form - love the universe, rules need a big overhaul.

Why both smiled and ticked, well it means I wont have something I check every few hours at work now getting more and more excited.

Even bigger smile - I found my old file of Advance Wars sprites on Ogre chits. Time to finish off the page. Thatll make teaching the game to gamers even easier.
Haha, I got Car Wars Compendium recently and it's a lot of fun so a new edition would be surely something I would like to look into. I really, really, really, hope they keep the game detailed instead of trying to make it accesible at all costs, that wouldn't be very fun.
Looking for a cool game? Find it in my blog!

I've debated getting ogre on kickstarter. Just don't know how often I'd play it.

I tried playing Autoduel once years ago, but I didn't have a manual so I had no idea what I was doing.

General Norris - it has some issues of fiddlyness and has a boatload of loopholes. I love Car Wars, but I would love if they took the Compendium, drilled it down to the basics, and released a fancy set in a Munchkin sized box - which is what they are supposed to do with Ogre next year. Boats are not necessary, but helicopters are fun - even if they are just for NPCs.

Jmustang - This is a crazy good deal that will be going away soon and will never be printed again. Watch these videos and see if it is up your alley:
http://www.youtube.com/user/candrewwalters (start with the intro then watch Ogre game - know the kickstarter version is Ogre, GEV, and most of Battlegrounds)
Really, if you buy it, and dont like it, you should be able to sell it later for atleast what you paid for it. The Kickstarter only bonuses alone will be worth the price - an entire third army. Hell, if you buy it and dont like it, Ill buy it from you for cost (later in the year though, my fun money is tapped pretty hard right now).

Hobie - Drive fast, shoot accurately, how hard is that to understand??? Seriously, all Car Wars games have been pretty terrible. I just imagine that Twisted Metal is Car Wars the video game, though it needs customization. Give me an online vehicular combat game with mod tools and customizable vehicles ala Mech Warrior, and Ill be set for life.

4k from the last goal!

Try Car Wars on the TI99:

Its like Pacman. Just like the boardgame.

And the 750k goal should be met before 1600 EST

Walked up to the gas station for a pack of cigarettes, wearing my Keith Apicary shirt. The clerk asked me if I was wearing a shirt with my own image on it, insisting that Keith looked just like me. I've never felt so simultaneously flattered, yet prematurely bald in my life.

Here's my FB profile pic:

I honestly don't see much of a resemblance, but it's a funny story nonetheless.

Haha if I grew my hair longer I'd look a bit like him. I don't have the huge glasses, but I do wear glasses. And I am balding of course. Sigh.
