Getting a PS3 finally, what games do you guys suggest?

Gamestop sells 60GB models for $230 so yeah I'd think that's kind of steep.

What are you doing with your old PS2? Amazon has 80 GB PS3's starting at $90, so you could snag that and keep your PS2 for your PS2 games.

Unfortunately I was going to give away my PS2 to my one friend who wants it. (he bought a 160gb PS3 and now wants something to play PS2 games on.

$90 is really cheap though, so maybe I'll talk to him about it.

60gb PS3s have been holding there value extremely well, with nice CIB units typically hitting over 250 on eBay. You may be better off getting a later fat unit, keeping your PS2, and buying your friend a old PS2 for like 30 bucks as a gift.

That said, I love my b/c PS3 and wouldn't trade it for any other model.

Yeah, it's just a matter of space really. I already have a region-free PS1 for back-up and I don't have the space for another Playstation.

Unless I decided to just part with my PS2 collection completely, that's another option.

For PSN games I reccomend Thexder Neo or Trash Panic. Super Stardust HD seemed pretty fun, but I've only played the demo so far.

Given that my 60gb PS3 just bit the dust from the infamous YLOD, I would recommend a brand new PS3 Slim. Yes, it's more expensive but my understanding is that the cooling system is better than the fat models - which is what leads to YLOD syndrome.

BUT! I would wait until after Sony's E3 press conference to make a decision. They might price drop the Slim or something, you never know.
