Gamepad / controller converters

Post by Ivo »

I'm probably going to buy some console controller port - USB converters (if I can find them, that is).

Anyone has experience using them, or knows where to find this stuff?

I'm sort of concerned that the PC may not recognize the hardware (does this stuff come with drivers?), and / or that there may be some noticeable lag before inputting the button presses and the PC acting on it.

I was thinking of getting one for Saturn, PS1 and Genesis (although the Saturn pad serves well for a Genesis replacement).

He only has Nintendo adapters though.

I'm looking for Saturn mainly, but I'd like to have also PS1 or PS2 adapter, and eventually a Genesis one if they are cheap.

I have no complaints about this playstation adapter. It's plug and play on XP.

Wrong my frined. If you look more, you would find this: http://retrousb.com/index.php?categoryID=81

There is some soldering involved, but its worth it.

There are some for Saturn, 3DO, NeoGeo and others here, I haven't bought there, but I think some people have bought Genesis flash carts from them.

Yes, they have parts for Sega controllers, as you say involves soldering. I was trying to find adapters that didn't make me alter the pads themselves (I want to use them on the original systems as well). I found some "Sold out" ones that have ports for Saturn, PS2 and DC and was able to locate some shop that has them in stock. I'll see if I get one from there.
