Took the wife to see The Avengers last night. She was disappointed that Cap nor Thor didn't walk around half naked the whole time (spoiler alert?) but still managed to enjoy the movie.
Never one to miss an opportunity to embarrass me, at a certain point in the movie she loudly asks, "Oh I know him! You have his action figure don't you?".
I do.
What was the last movie you've seen?

The ending of the incredible hulk definitely suggested at that, and I think it's another situation where if they had done a sequel to that first, they would have fleshed that concept out. But since time was limited, they just played it fast and loose.

Last night i watched The Great Silence, an old spaghetti western from 1968. Overall, it was a good story with a solid ending way ahead of its time. However, most of the rest of the film was definitely dated by today's standards. Overall, I'd give it a grade of B-.

One of my favorite non-Leone spaghetti westerns. Having the film take place in the snowy mountains compared to the normal desert setting makes it stand out from the other spaghetti westerns. Klaus Kinski as the antagonist is always great to see and Jean-Louis Trintignant plays the mute role really well but I wouldn't think that would be difficult. Also, Ennio Morricone's score is just great to the ears (The Great Silence - Restless). The ending though is what really makes it great.

The Hudsucker Proxy
I enjoyed this movie, but it doesn't really feel like a Coen Bros. film. It could have been made by any competent family-friendly comedy director. Still good, but it lacked the particular style I expected.
