So, what do you think of Wasteland? And what about Fallout?

So, what do you think of Wasteland? And what about Fallout?

Worth playing it nowadays? I fancy playing something old and clunky and I was thinking of playing a Dungeon Crawler but after reminding myself I was not going to enjoy the grinding I thought of checking Wasteland out, the Harcore Gaming 101 were talking about it.

So, what do you think? Worth playing? Worth getting frustrated over? Or should I just play Fallout?

Guess it's a really obscure game? I'm beginning to think nobody here has played it or heard about it :lol:

I'm familiar with it, backed the Wasteland 2 kickstarter, but I've never played it. So I had nothing relevant to contribute.

Yeah same here, I know of it, but I started with Fallout personally. Wasteland sounds awesome though.

Oh, don't say that, I'm willing to talk about how it looks or why you backed up the sequel.

@Stark

I'm also wiling to hear you talk about Fallout. Let's edit the title!

I'm considering fun games to play if I get an open console so this is why you see me beating around the bush so much lately.

I love the old fallouts. Wasteland was the inspiration for the fallouts. They play somewhat similar to the baldurs gates and planescape and such. You don't have the npcs like BG, you can get some followers though. The progression of the games are different than the bgs and such as well. I think falout 2 is a bit better than 1. The atmosphere, dialog, and amount of choices you can make are all superb.

I backed wasteland 2 as well. I like the gameplay described, and I always have enjoyed the post apocalyptic mad max type of setting. I have seen video of wasteland 1 and am intrigued, but it is so dated and antiquated that it might be tough to get over some of it...

It's all JMustang's fault I backed Wasteland 2 as well as he prodded me about it 3 days before the kickstarter ended. I haven't played the original myself, but I had a friend that did back in the day on PC. I have a C64 copy that found its way into my hands but I'm not sure where the box and manual are.

I just remembered that CRPGAddict did a playthrough of Wasteland:

Exagerrations! Lol. More about 3 minutes on aim. I sent him the link to the kickstarter and that was all she wrote! Lol

I meant that you mentioned it a little before the kickstarter ended, not that you pestered me for 3 days. :lol:
