It ended. They were given a half season to wrap things up.indecks wrote:it is if you're Tim "I only work with my wife and my friend johnny" Burton. lolLuke wrote:which isn't necessarily a bad thing,
I'll need to check out Dollhouse. I know it was canned, but did it end, or was it abrupt like Firefly?

The series continues on in comic book form with sporadic releases. I can't say much about them without spoiling the show thoughStark wrote:It ended. It's become something of a norm for Joss to continue his shows in comic books, including Firefly. The most noteworthy ones are the monthly Buffy and Angel & Faith books.

I'm confused, why would Nolan be so pleased about his biggest rival being a box-office behemoth? If anything, I feel a bit bad for Nolan. He's a fantastic director, and I think TDKR is going to be goddamn amazing. However, I don't think it'll get anywhere near The Avengers gross, it might not even do as TDK. One of the biggest things that Dark Knight had going for it, besides the fact that it was awesome, was Heath Ledger, who was a fantastic actor, teenage heartthrob, and of course tragically died before the movie came out. Those factors I think is what made The Dark Knight do so well, since it could pull in a larger range of viewers. TDKR though, has its work cut out for it. I have no doubt that it will be a great movie, but it remains to be seen how well its received by the general populous.sabrage wrote:I bet Nolan is bouncing up and down like a giddy little girl right now.
Sorry for the tangential post, I'm a bit overly excited for this summer's game and movie releases, causes me to rant a bit.

Biggest rival? TDKR isn't out for another two and a half months. Time will tell, but I have little doubt that it'll at least beat TDK's opening. No, it doesn't have the Heath Ledger hype train, but it does have JG-L and Anne Hathaway in a catsuit, and it's following up a far more successful film than Thor, Captain America or Iron Man 2. 2012 is shaping up to be a huge year for blockbusters between Avengers and The Hunger Games (even Battleship was a moderate success), so while the rest of the industry may be in a slump I see little reason for Nolan to not count his chickens now.Lokkenjawnz wrote:I'm confused, why would Nolan be so pleased about his biggest rival being a box-office behemoth? Unless, you know, Nolan makes his first bad movie ever.

That's what I love about Nolan. He takes a while to make movies, but they're always awesome.sabrage wrote:Unless, you know, Nolan makes his first bad movie ever.

Compared to other auteurs, Nolan is actually incredibly reliable, no doubt in large part to his mainstream success.BoringSupreez wrote: That's what I love about Nolan. He takes a while to make movies, but they're always awesome.
