What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

I understand!

About ten years ago *flashback waves and wind chimes* my now wife, then girlfriend decided to move in together as my roommate was off to rehab, and her roommates weren't pursuing any additional eduction. My parents, even my Grandparents had no issues. In fact, my side of the family had the frame of mind that "it's none of our business".

My girlfriend's family on the other hand...Her parents threatened to disown her and made her life a living hell when trying to make the decision. It got to the point where I had to talk to her parents. After we moved in, her parents lied to the grandparents for about seven years until we were engaged. They were too ashamed to admit that we lived together, something that still rubs me the wrong way.

What helped me pal, was talking to her parents. Might not help you, but it is always worth a shot. I basically told her parents that I loved their daughter and that I had never seen her so unhappy in her life. That although they might not agree with the decision, it was her decision to make.

I know it is tough and you don't want to cut ties with her family, but always remember that you and her are starting your own family.

Sorry for your circumstances.

Smile: Chicago style Italian Beef for dinner tonight. It's already in the slow cooker.

Frown: A close friend of mine who is pregnant is having complications. Just minor, and I'm sure all will be well, but at the same time that has to be some very scary shiznit.

AH'M GOIN' TA DISNEYLAND!

No seriously, we're spending the weekend in LA, and we're going to Disneyland first thing tomorrow.

I aim to get my picture taken with Donald Duck. Even if that means waiting in line with all of the little kids (or pushing them out of the way :P ).

It will be legendary.

Fun fact: most of the time it's women in those costumes, even if the characters are supposed to be male.

Smile: Finally took my car for an alignment and state inspection (that was waaaaay overdue) today. Feels good to get something done that's been pushed back for a while.

Frown: $140ish for those two things turned into $590 once the cracked driveshaft boot and (original 7 year old) fan/alternator belt replacements were added in. Belts hadn't been squeaking and I wasn't dripping grease in my parking spot, so I wasn't expecting any issues to take care of. *sigh*
