Sega CD Model 1 Question

Post by scottykick »

How much could I expect to pay for one, I see one on ebay, that includes a model 1 genesis, all attachments and a couple of games starting at $100.

i think you can get a model 1 a little cheaper if your patient, dont forget to account for the shipping costs, you should wait for a collection so you get games as well unless you know how to download them yourself (dont ask me), but yeah model one is more expensive than model 2, i personally like the model 2 better, better yet a Sega CDX but your looking at paying 125-175 depending on how lucky you get.

I'm looking for a model 1 cd player, just because I never owned one (i originally had the model 2 with a model 1 Genny) now I have a model 2 genny and no cd or 32x.

I know the model 1 goes for more then the model 2, just was looking to see if there was a known average price for a model 1.

From my experience I've seen them go between 30-60. Usually there is a genesis attached, but when boxed I've seen them go for ever more. In my opinion the model 2 genny looks odd sitting on top of the model 1 sega cd becase there is a big gap on one side and the design on the units are not the same. I would suggest finding one locally, they can be tempermental and the cd tray can wear out. It's best to test it yourself!

Very True about the tempermental cd trays.

Where were the people willing to pay $125 - $175 when I was trying to sell my boxed one? I think that I wound up getting $75.
