Not the TV show, the Japanese movie from the '70s. This was an uncommonly good movie. There's not really anything I can think of to criticize, other than that the special effects are dated. And even that's not really a problem, as they only add to the movie's character. Bizarre, funny, artistic, and cool. Highly recommended.
I watched the Cinemassacre review of that a couple weeks ago. Looks pretty interesting!
House is good. It is also thoroughly bizarre. The pacing is a bit slow at first, but then it shifts into light speed and everything goes totally crazy. It's genuinely hard to describe it because of how unusual it is.

The first part is actually kind of nostalgic. I really like '70s and '80s Japanese culture better than the current culture, probably because I had Japanese children's books from that era when I was young.

It'd be hard to get my friends to watch the movie, just because of the beginning. It's hard to see how a movie that starts like that can go so insane by the end. I'd like to see more movies like House. Does anyone know of any other really strange movies I should try?

Thief

I basically now just see James Caan being himself in every film role and he works as himself in this role. Although its not on the level of The Red Circle when it comes to the heist, but it was still great to see how they did it.

It is hard to describe. I gave it my by best, but.... Yeah, it's just something you've got to see for yourself.

Yeah, I don't have Netflix, so I wouldn't know. TCM has spoiled me though. Just about every Friday night I get to watch some weird little gem I haven't seen before. Though I've noticed that they're beginning to repeat a few I've already seen. Looks like they'll be re-playing Ganja and Hess on the 18th, so maybe they'll get back around to showing Hausu again. I'll have to pay attention.

But if I remember correctly, you said you didn't get TCM so I guess that's not really very helpful to you :(

THE AVENGERS
By the weekend I'll probably have seen this three times; it's that much fun. You'd think with Loki being the main villain and also Thor's arch nemesis that Thor wouldn't get the short end of the stick. He does. Besides fighting, he doesn't do much, but that's not a problem with me, just an observation.

There are a few scenes where the Hulk had me laughing out loud, loudly.

...I won't get into it that much as I know someone will accidentally read these spoilers, and I don't want to spoil a thing. Just let me know when it's okay to spoil away.

I keep seeing all these Avengers ads and stuff around. I'd consider seeing it, but I haven't seen any of the other Marvel Movieverse films (unless Ang Lee's Hulk counts... which I doubt it does) and feel like i should probably watch them first.

They're all at least watchable, right?

Iron Man is a good fun film, but Captain America is by far and away the best of the bunch. I was a hold out, but I talked with the cinematographer recently and he said that it is one of his films that he watches (which is rare), so I figured it was worth a shot. There are slow times, but they are made up for with solid action and a pretty good little plot.

Thor and Hulk I did not enjoy, but the Iron Mani and Cappy are great.
