OP updated... look good? I haven't been following scores this month, but I did add hashiriya1's final score in. If there's something wrong with the final scores let me know.
I hope I'm able to participate this month.

Re: Shmup of the Month Club (Great Mahou Daisakusen)
Time for a real shmup
That is an excellent short write-up on Dimahoo. The only thing I would add, and only because it confused me at first, is that you can hold down that charge and build its leve up to 8 (which can be seen in the bottom corner, near your charge meter).
It helps to know, because when you kill each enemy, the item it drops will change depending on what charge level you are at (amongst other things), so if you charge to 8, you will get huge items, and as your meter slowly drops, you will still get items of level 7-1 as it goes down.
So excited for Raizing month

First time playing this game. Crap, it's hard. I guess it's all about charge-shot timing. I'll start things off with my lowly score:
hashiriya1 - 808,440 - 31/108 - Stage 3 - MAME

Re: Shmup of the Month Club (Great Mahou Daisakusen)
Nice start!
I love that this game is brutal no matter how you play it. If you don't want to collect items and just get as far as you can, you will still be in for hell. If you want to make a nice score... well, goodbye to your life
The bosses reallly get pissed if you take them apart piece by piece.
We should probably put what character we use too, as they all have different scoring potential... plus, its cool to know who is using who.

Haha, I hope I didn't come off that way. Seriously. It's just that I was totally winging it and there were so many missed opportunities that I felt like shit the whole time because I was constantly missing out on some big points.

Yeah, the trick is def. getting that full charge - but it gets real tough to do beginning on stage 2 - you are avoiding stuff for 5-6 seconds at a time and since yr not killing anything, it just gets overwhelming, but if you survive and unleash your full charge shot, it is a treasure trove and the points can add up in a hurry.
This is definitely a scoring game and I love it. Got 4 runs in just now...
I had a real nice run where I just wanted to survive and hit the stage 3 boss. 510K.
Had 2 meh runs.
Then had a nice run for score, but only made it to end of stage 2:
969,020 - mjmjr25 - Stage 2 - (first character) - Arcade
EDIT: Pic Removed

951,100 - Dunpeal2064 - Stage 2 - Solo Bang - 40/108 - Arcade
Killing Busturtle's tail and head at full charge gives you two secret items, worth a pretty penny.
This game makes Cave stuff seem easy.
