I'm going to swing the complete other way and say that for a portable platform this might be the way of the future, sooner than you think. As it stands, iOS and Android have been following that model since its release. I am well aware that we are talking about two distinct different models of distribution and types of content, but the growth from the two platforms are astonishing right?

I mean for the portable platform this digital only distribution would work. People would get the content much faster at a cheaper (hypothetically) price, and will be more incline to buy multiple titles in one go. I will not be shocked in the slightest if we see a PS Vita Go or a Nintendo 3DS DO (digital only  ).

But this discussion isn't about if the model works or not, its about will we accept it. Honestly, after getting a PSP Go recently, I'm game.
