Do you remember Onimusha Buraiden?
Highly underrated game IMO.

It was called Blade Warriors in the US (For people who don't know and are too lazy to google 
) ... and that game fucking rocked.
I was always astonished when people were very "meh" about it. It's one of the few games on PS2 that supports multiple players (more than 2) and it so cohesively translates the Onimusha gameplay to a fighting/brawling game. I think it's amazing and I've always loved it.
I'd argue it's one of the best genre translations I've ever seen.
