Video Pinball
Re: Video Pinball
I'm enjoying Microsoft Pinball Arcade. Slick Chick is one fine EM machine, and Haunted House is a great example of early 80s goodness.

Re: Video Pinball
Haunted House is actually legally free in the download trial of the game (still hosted on MS' website) and it runs fine on newer OSs. I played it once but didn't spend much time with it...I'd be happy to if you geta score thread goingExedExes wrote:I'm enjoying Microsoft Pinball Arcade. In a few minutes of nosing around online I discovered that in May/June Pinball Arcade will add:
Medieval Madness
Bride of Pinbot
Cirquis Voltaire
Funhouse
also on the horizon:
Monster Bash
Attack from Mars (!)
the DLC is supposed to sell in packs of two tables for $2.50 each, which is awesome
Re: Video Pinball
Downloaded Zen Pinball last night. Holy crap, when resources are actually invested into a Pinball game, magic happens.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Video Pinball
Zen Pinball/Pinball FX (same game) are a lot of fun - but I really prefer the Pinball Arcade stuff for whatever reason. That said, I really do need to try out some of the Marvel tables to see what I think.Flake wrote:Downloaded Zen Pinball last night. Oh, I discovered yesterday that this is 5 minutes from my house:

Re: Video Pinball
I played the demo for quite the long time then I found the new sealed copy on eBay and snapped it up. The other tables are just as good, and the EM sounds and mechanics are emulated perfectly. Despite it being a Win95/98 game it runs perfectly on Vista. I still am playing Haunted House the most on it now, just because it is such a well made game and it reminds me of the equally awesome Black Hole.dsheinem wrote: Haunted House is actually legally free in the download trial of the game (still hosted on MS' website) and it runs fine on newer OSs. Good to see Medieval Madness and Cirqus Voltaire to make the list coming up. The DMD on the latter to put it inside the game was a smart idea and I liked how it was integrated into the playfield.
If they're gonna have Medieval Madness, they need to have Attack from Mars which I see is on there; both were designed by the same guy.

I would be interested in high score threads.dsheinem wrote:So it took me almost two weeks, but I finally got you by a measly 200K or so...dsheinem wrote:just saw it....turning on Vita....NOW!retrosportsgamer wrote:Theatre of Magic - 1,956,048,790
1,133 overall on the world ( and 500 mill up on dsheniem - until he sees this)
...now to work on Ripley's before going after that obscene Arabian Nights score.
Also, I think we should start creating some pinball high score threads for older games. What games would people like to compete in?
I, personally, have the Pinball FX stuff on the 360 and Pinball Arcade on PS3 (and have zen for 3ds).
Just let me know which tables/games to target and i'll purchase them.

It is at Knoebel's, so I doubt they'd sell it. But at 5 plays for $2, I can have a lot of fun. Those machines run $5K plus on eBay, and I'd rather have several machines for that price. I could play over 12,500 games for that prices1mplehumar wrote:dsheinem wrote:Zen Pinball/Pinball FX (same game) are a lot of fun - but I really prefer the Pinball Arcade stuff for whatever reason. I know a guy in York that has 30+ pins in the back portion of his auto repair shop. I'll see if he allows me to take some pictures next time I'm over that way.
