I was able to 100% the game completely on my own, except for one part on "tree tops" or something. I have no idea how anyone would have figured that one out on their own. Even if you know how to reach the unreachable island, it is difficult.

Over the past year, I've done all three games and they are great. I think the second game is the best in the series.

I'm playing Elemental Gimmick Gear for Sega Dreamcast. And I'm REALLY enjoying it. It marries the gameplay of Legend of Zelda with the storytelling sensibility of a JRPG, and even throws in a sprinkle of anime-inspired cutscenes. Fantastic so far, and I can't wait to see what in store for me as I've barely begun the game.

This is quite the pleasant surprise, because I bought this in the $2.00 discs bin at the local used game/movie shop. So I expected it to be a bad game and I hadn't actually touched it for quite a while. If the rest of the game is as good as it has opened, then I'm in for a real treat.

Hehe I had the same exact problem! That was insane... also the only time I had to look up something for the game. That level is maddening!

I'm going to be playing an indie puzzle-platformer called "Vessel"; I played a bit of it at PAX East and was really impressed with it. Some really cool and addicting water-based puzzles to solve with great water physics... kind of like Super Mario Sunshine combined with Portal in a 2D sidescroller.

Sounds great, might have to hook up the good ol' DC just to fire this game up.

As for games I'm playing right now, I've been on an NeoGeo binge lately: SamSho I & II, KoF 98, Metal Slug X and Blazing Star have been getting a lot of love.

Also looking forward to Max Payne 3 - looks great :)

I just reinstalled XP after a virus and decided to reinstall Quake 1.

I have it set up with the updated texture packs and I also put Fisheye Quake in there.
been running through bolth of them. I think I like the gritty original version with fisheye fov warp the best. I haven't tried Panquake but I will.

after I finish I think I'll go for QII and Q3A

I think my favorite thing about the Quake series was downloading new maps for Q3A.

it's been so long since I've messed with Q3 I can't remember all the commands I used to know or what front end mod I had that helped view all my maps, player skins and models.

I know it's cheating but I used to have alot of fun turning on slow motion mode and playing bots off line. taking screen shots of my skins, replaying demos...
Ocelot, did it again...sorry Boss !

I got Earthworm Jim 1 & 2 off GOG recently, and I just started them up. I must say, they are awesome. I really should have bought these years ago.

Also, I'm wondering: how does the PC version of EJ compare to the Special Edition on SCD?

So, yeah. With 300+ unfinished games going by feel was just too stressful. I've chosen a completely arbitrary delineation to my backlog: I'm going to beat my games alphabetically. First up: 'Splosion Man.

(Here's the full list)

I bought the Xbox Live Arcade Triple Pack last summer, so I've had 'Splosion Man for about 10 month (wow) but today was the first time I sunk some serious time into it. It's a hardcore platform/puzzler in the vein of Super Meat Boy, but where that game evoked Super Mario Bros, 'Splosion Man is more in the Sonic or Donkey Kong Country vein. It's definitely on the slower and more deliberate side that Meat Boy, but for whatever reason it's giving me a lot more trouble than that game did. Something about the way your triple "jump" (really exploding) works just doesn't feel natural to me. Overall, it actually reminds me the most of Dust Force, another game I need to spend some more time with. I just beat the seconds "world" in 'Splosion Man.

I'd just like to point out that Twisted Pixel has done a pretty excellent job infusing this game with character. Your avatar bursts into Crash Bandicoot-style idle animations within seconds of being left alone, and between the nonsensical noises he makes and the upbeat soundtrack everything sounds great. I don't know if I'm really craving more 'Splosions enough to pick up the sequel, but I have The Maw on the backburner and I'd certainly pick up The Gunstringer if the Kinect appealed to me. Probably the smartest third-party acquisition Microsoft has made this generation.

Warioware Twisted -- so weird but so fun. The motion sensor is spot-on for control and it makes me want to check out the entire series. Lots of fun so far.

Well, I got the first six Might and Magic games a while ago, so those will be my games of the next few months for consistent play, I reckon. Also futzing around with a random selection of shmups and racing games in between. Fun times. :)

Twisted is the best in the series, but be sure to try Mega Microgame$ and Smooth Moves. Wario Ware is one of my favorite series. I love the weirdness of it all.
