Hey everyone....big shining force fan here...I've got SF and SF2 on Genesis and SF CD as well. I've always wanted sf3 on saturn to continue the series and the style of srpg they offer. What should I really lok to spend on a copy? preferably a complete copy, but def not sealed or mint condition...so long as the game works I'm happy. Anyone know where besides ebay/amazon to look for a cheaper copy maybe (any specific sites)?
Thanks everyone!

Re: Shining Force 3
yeah. Its hard to find these games now without spending a pretty penny.
I have my beat up copy for about 12 years now. Its a disc only copy.
Have beat it many times.
But many here have played the other parts of SF3. Yep other parts. While we only got the first scenario, in japan they got more of the same awesome game.
I desparately thought that if I beat the game the rest of the story would be unlocked. But that was a lie. You had to buy the other two discs.
I suppose you could import these. But there is a way to burn them and play them in a modded saturn. There's walkthroughs available too for them. cause this game is playable if you dont know japanese. its just the story you have to read up on.
Nice to see another fan.

You will probably be spending atleast 60 to 70 maybe more. You can also get patched isos of scenario 2 and 3 to play on a modded saturn.

Re: Shining Force 3
As a note, the guys doing the SF2&3 translation also retranslated SF1 to fix the ending (the dialog was greatly changed so there wouldn't be a "to be continued" in the US release) and cleaned up some stuff to be more consistent with the other two games. That retranslation can only be applied to the US copy.

Re: Shining Force 3
thanks everyone....I have no issue honestly spending towards $100 to add this game to my collection, just want to make sure that isn't too outrageous. What exactly is needed to mod my Saturn? an action replay? something more? thanks!

To play a CD-R, you need this: http://www.racketboy.com/store/sega-sat ... dchip.html
You can also use a method called the "swap trick," but I don't recommend doing it.

You can get a mod chip from the racketboy store here and try your hand at it. Or attempt to commission one of the more experienced modders on the site to do it for you.
Or you can go here: http://www.segastyle.com/store/
and get the mod chip installation service done. I know a friend who had it performed through them and it worked well for him.

Re: Shining Force 3
I thought Shining Force III Scenerios 2 and 3 had already been translated and released? Maybe someone said that, but some of the posts in this thread are too mixed up for my tired eyes at the moment.
As has been said, you can buy a mod chip for your Saturn from the Racketboy store. It's a fairly easy soldering job to get it installed. Make sure your Saturn is a model 2. I'm not sure what has to be done on a model 1 Saturn.

Yeah, they are basically done. Still in beta mode technically but its about 98-100%, just a few bugsand quirks here and there, nothing game breaking.

Re: Shining Force 3
The translations technically still need an editing pass but as far as I know there are no longer any bugs (scenario 3 bookcase was fixed) and all the English text is there, so it should be fully playable.
