It is freaky as hell when a British actor spends 10 minutes talking in his normal voice and then suddenly affects an American accent.

America's bigger than Europe itself if you exclude Russia. For every country-specific European accent, there's a region-specific American one... and they all sound stupid.

I'll give everyone the fact that their accent sounds dumb to someone else, but here's something I've been wondering- does anybody know anyone else who doesn't have any kind of accent? Not that they don't have one, as much as the fact nobody else hears one? When I talk to people on PS3/Xbox 360, other than when I say "Y'all", many people except those from areas with strong accents thinks I'm from their country. Its extremely odd.

The Midwest doesn't have much of an accent, if you stick to the urban areas and avoid Minnesota.
