From discussions I've had with some clerks, it sounds like corporate is moving certain platforms and consolidating them in stores where they actually sell.

For the most part, it looks like it's working. I remember going into one GS only a few months ago and there being a very large GameCube section, then going back about a month later, and the second was drastically smaller.

I think GameStop has actually gotten rid of almost all Xbox stock, it was the first they started to clearance out from last generation. And I think those PS2 games that are just in sleeves are actually games that don't have cases or anything. They're likely some back stock they had lying in the back room. My local store (that still has PS2 stuff) has both. And you can find games that are both just a disc in a sleeve and ones that are with a case and manual. So it seems more like they're just putting out the entire stock to get rid of it as opposed to actually destroying materials.

Though, they have done it in the past :| GameStop in the early 00s used to have a policy of throwing away all Collector's Edition materials on trade ins.

So, some stores might be tossing stuff ... but ... I don't know, I know my local ones aren't.

I was browsing GameStop's selection today and a woman walked in and said to the clerk:

"Do y'all got Skyrim for PS3?"

Her English skills = Fail.

Not sure if that irony is on purpose, but it made me laugh.

People keep posting the discarded remains of the ones I thought better of today.

You shouldn't be. It's a well-documented fact that speaking with a southern accent has a negative effect on intelligence. The current estimate is that one loses 2 to 3 brain cells every time the phrase "y'all" is used. It's generally safe to assume that anyone who talks like that is an idiot who should be ignored.

Y'all need to quit gettin' so damned uppity about how ya'll are smarter for not havin' no southern accent.
If that was sarcastic, it should have been in blue. If you were serious, why do you have to be that way?

I was sarcastic, however I don't think I should need to put it in blue. I know we're online and it's harder to detect sarcasm here, but I think I was being obvious enough.

I think the possible bad impression comes from the southern dialect more than it does the accent.
Since this signature affects old posts, I'm leaving a message here in case anyone searches for my username. This account died in early 2013. I am no longer a fundamentalist.

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.
