I thought Aliens was a giant step back from the original, so I never bothered with the other two. I don't really like James Cameron, though. (The Abyss is my favorite JC film)

I liked Alien: Resurrection. The aliens looked pretty cool and there were some creepy moments, like the alien birth scene.

The acting was horrible though.

That bums me out. The theater experience can completely change the way you watch movies. The joy of hearing little kids giggle during an animated comedy, almost jumping out of your seat with 200 random strangers during a horror film, hearing grown men cry during dramas, and feeling free to shout out "Oh No she didn't!" at any Tyler Perry moie.

The Avengers is going to be a lot more fun to see in a theater. It will be a melting pot of people just looking for a fun time.

Now when I screen movies, that is done in private to avoid any distractions, but I always prefer to watch a new release in the theater. Now if you're one of those tight ass people who believe no one should talk during a movie, grow up. Someone answers their mobile phone, all you have to do is point the guy out and he'll either be warned or kicked out.

I think you're missing out.

In all honesty, usually it's the people in the theater that get me to jump. It's like when playing the board game Operation and there is always one person that will make you jump when the red nose lights up.

And I get why people would rather stay at home. It's cheaper, you can pause the movie, you can hush anyone without the threat of being shot...

..but you miss out in my opinion. There is an underlying chumminess with people watching the same movie. Rarely have I ever seen someone in a theater who didn't want to be there, and those people are usually kill joys anyway.

Now everyone stop what they are doing and go see RAID: THE REDEMPTION.

I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Toys...err. Evidently I have lots of growing then. I feel like dropkicking people for talking during a movie. Whispering in someone's ear is perfectly acceptable. Heck, get emotional! Cry, laugh, shout in terror, but don't carry a farking conversation every 10 minutes. I paid for a movie, not twenty somethings carrying on like asshats.

I'm the complete opposite. All my best movie experiences have actually been late night in bed with headphones on, where I can fully immerse myself. I think this is why crying at Grave of the Fireflies, or being shook to the core after seeing Audition really are some of my favourite movie memories. I think in a cinema they lose the edge, with the wanker behind kicking the chair/opening endless bags of sweets/the obese woman on my aisle who constantly gets up for the toilet. But then again, I watched Rambo and Die Hard 4 in the cinema and creamed myself at their amazingness. I watched them on television a year later and they were poor. It varies on the movie I suppose.

Regarding the topic though, I just watched The King of Kong on Netflix, a documentary I'm sure most of you have seen about the Donkey Kong world record attempt, and I found it fascinating how pathetic these guys' lives were! At times it was literally like schoolboys in the yard. Completely absorbing though!

If I talk during the movie, what will I talk about after the movie? :|

I like Aliens more than Alien. They're not really comparable in my mind though, they seem like different genres.
