Famicom Value

Post by Luigiman »

So, I'm thinking of picking up a Famicom relatively soon, and I was just wondering what the average value for one would be. Don't want to get ripped off is all (:

Loose roughly $45. Boxed anywhere from $65-$110-ish (depending on condition and completeness). AV Fami is a different story.

Our own sensiman sales em for only $15 a pop. That's usually without a power supply or a RF switch (which you can substitute with a Genesis model 1 DC adapter and original NES RF switch). I picked up a complete-in-box Famicom system last year for $65 shipped off eBay.

I'll have some as well and some FDS coming in in about 4 weeks (shipped snail mail yesterday). Will probably be around $35 shipped; the yen has gone through the roof lately

That's about what they're worth really, Famicom consoles are extremely common and anything above $50 is a ripoff.

I've bought a Famicom from skere in the past and he provided an excellent value. Then I sent that Famicom to Apolloboy to A/V mod it and got a great deal on that. This site has a lot of great people always willing to help out fellow retro gamers!

Does the Famicom have the flashing screen issues?

No. The Famicom does not have a "lock-out" chip.
