So what have you guys been watching lately?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

The first three seasons are damn brilliant. It has amazingly well written witty comedy and all sorts of satire but it doesnt really try to be topical and it has a lot of normal crude humor. Still some episodes make a short statement in the end, a bit like old South Park episodes with those I've learned something today monologues.
And here is a word about comedy from Duckman himself...

Most Duckman episodes have been uploaded to youtube so you can watch it with out having to download it for free.

Has any one seen Clerks: The Animated Series btw? It was damn hilarious, too bad it only lasted for 6 episodes :(
I liked Clerks: The Animated Series. I remember Duckman, it was on USA, but I never did watch it, I just remember the commercials for it. Since we're on the subject of old comedy cartoons, anyone remember The Critic? I thought that was a good one, that's been forgotten about.

The Critic was decent but it was Family Guy before Family Guy existed, doing alot of totally unrelated "its like XY" and "remember that one time when..."-movie reference jokes and some other annoying/embaressing stuff, like thinking that if you over do something long enough, it becomes funny.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

I like Family Guy.

The Critic is awesome, Family Guy sucks, 'nuff said.

I have never heard of someone with so much passion for Duckman.

The Critic was a lot of fun and also smart at times. I'll always remember "People ask me why my statue has a banana in my ear. That's to lure the monkey out of my brain".

Fun fact: my cousin recently opened for John Lovitz, who is still on a comedy tour. He has a reputation for being a sleazy womanizer. He proved to be a little bit sleazy, but more than often a nice guy.

It is Saturday so...

I think Jon Lovitz is hilarious. Hell, he made Rat Race tolerable.

I was at Hastings a few days ago (it's a regional book/DVD/Dvd rental/videogame/geek apparel store) and saw seasons 1-4 of Futurama on sale for $15 each. On a whim, I bought all of them. I've watched the first two discs of season one, and so far I think it's real good. I love all the nerd references they throw out; for example, the New Years Eve 3000 celebration had the moon with 3000 written on it, just like the MST3K logo. Not regretting my purchase.

South Park was fantastic last night. Cupid me was great, and I laughed my ass off when Cartman chilled the grape soda.

Just want to float this out there: are there particular seasons South Park fans not like? It seems to me that everyone who likes the show... Likes the show. For me, there was always 1-2 standout, topical episodes per season (like the World of Warcraft one or last season's Broadway episode) while the rest just fall into the generic South Park idiocy. I had to turn off this season's premiere because it was so goddamned asinine. It feels to me like most people who enjoy South Park aren't particularly critical of it, even when at times it fails to live up to its own expectations.

Oh, and it's even worse when they lambast a trend 9 months late (Jersey Shore)

Tough times for Matt and Trey a few years ago. I almost wanted them to hang up their gloves because the show had gotten mediocre. Glad they didn't.

But certainly there are a few seasons where the show felt that it totally lost its edge. There have been a few lackluster episodes this season but there also have been episodes, like last nights, that are incredibly hilarious.

edit* South Park also has so many great jokes that go over people's heads. I'd say my friends are all intelligent, but less than half got the jackin it in San Diego song while I was nearly in tears with laughter.
