I want to say the later discs for the PSX FF's were always shorter than the previous ones, but who knows. IX was pretty huge.o.pwuaioc wrote:How long will it take me to get through disc 3 of FFIX? That's what I'm going to play tonight.

I'm in the process of setting up a classic PC/DOS gaming rig with Windows 98SE. I'm almost done and I'm going to be installing games afterwards.

yeah dude, I think we need to change up Fight Night. Make it a little looser? Like just "ok, it's Thurs who's around and what fighting game do you feel like playing right NOW?" kind of thing. What do you think?jay_red wrote:The KOF XIII night was a bit of a bust, the UMVC3 from last week didnt even seem to happennoiseredux wrote:we have a Thursday night PS3 fighting game meetup. But the guy who runs it is kind of shit and let it slide lately.
I think I've gotten a little burned out on organizing it. Maybe someone else should be in charge for a while.

Re: Friday Night Gaming
I swear my consoles were conspiring against me last night. First I go to play Granstream Saga on PS1. The music doesn't work, all I hear is a high-pitched ringing. Later I'm playing Breath of Fire (GBA version, but playing on the DS) and the game freezes, the screen goes white, and I hear a similar high-pitched tone. Lost about an hour or progress there. Made it up later and then played for about another two hours. Played through my least favorite part of the game (where you get Gobi the fish-man).
It was a bad night, hopefully these were just flukes.

I spent most of the night playing Xenoblade. Damn I love this game, haven't been hooked by a JRPG like this in ages. Everything is just so right.
I own nearly every fighter on PS3, yet I haven't participated even once. I think the reason me and possibly others aren't active is because it's limited to one game a week and a set day/time. I'm too lazy to abide by a schedule like that, but I'm down to play some fighters with you guys.
Speaking of all this, anyone down for some UMvC 3 tonight? My girlfriend randomly wants to play it when she gets out of work and it would be funny to see how she does online.
This would get me to sign up. I think it would work better as just like a general "hey guys, who wants to play BlazBlue? I'm game for a few rounds right now" thread.noiseredux wrote:I think we need to change up Fight Night. Make it a little looser? I played a few games with my buds last night. Simpson's Arcade, TMNT Arcade, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Paperboy, and NBA Jam. Don't get excited, the arcade games were digital download versions, but fun nontheless.
Tonight is a huge night for some long time friends, a different group than Friday. We've always gotten together a few times a year and play tons of retro games. Tonight we'll be hitting up some Genesis, Metal Slug Anthology, Dreamcast, NES, Starcraft LAN, and some board games.
One time all of us guys were playing Disney's Adventures in the Magic Kingdom for NES, and each of us had a level to beat. I had to beat Pirates of the Caribbean, one of the harder levels. I had never even played this game, and from what the guys were telling me, the learning curve was steep for that level. Like an hour and a half later, we finally beat it. It was hilarious to see 6 grown men hootin' and hollerin' after beating a Disney videogame.
Here's hoping you guys have some fun tonight too!
