You could also use the Vanish-Death trick, to insta-death pretty much anyone.
As great as this game was, they really goofed up in some areas.

Re: Quick FF6 question
Wow I've played FFVI more than any other game and never tried any of these "cheats." Guess I have something to look forward to during my next playthrough.
Re: Quick FF6 question
I remember Gau also has one dance that uses the spell "charm", which was a permanent status effect like confusion that worked on almost every enemy (including Kefka).
Re: Quick FF6 question
You could always use Umaro and Berserk your characters.Ack wrote:True, but I only use it for this level. I figure, if the game wants to take away my most basic non-resource intensive ability, I have the option of retaliating by not allowing its hinderance to work.
So that's less of a goof than you might think. The goof is that all attacks are rolled against magic evade instead of the appropriate evade based on the attack type. But the complete avoidance based on 128% is intentional, and you can still get pretty invincible characters on the GBA rerelease which fixed the bug.As great as this game was, they really goofed up in some areas.

Re: Quick FF6 question
Huh, that is interesting!
With the fixed stats, wouldn't you need that percentage in both evade and M Block though? That would be much harder to accomplish than just getting M Block.
Its not surprising either way, seeing as VII gave you that armor with insane evade on it. (getting all 3 required glitching the last dungeon though)

Re: Quick FF6 question
Much harder, but the gear with the highest numbers usually had both stats on it anyway.

Re: Quick FF6 question
Thats true, I hadn't thought of that.
How was the bonus content in the GBA port of VI? I only ever played the GBA port of IV, and I thought the additional content was nice, but I definitely still prefer the PS1 port, for difficulty.

Re: Quick FF6 question
So the bonus content is a few extra espers, the dragon's den, and another small dungeon which unlocks afterwards. Dragon's Den is another three-party dungeon and I haven't worked my way through it, but it's definitely challenging.

Re: Quick FF6 question
Wow, they actually added Espers? Were they endgame additions, or did they show up throughout the game?
If they added them at the end, I am curious as to what stat adjusters they might give.
I'll have to check this out now.

Re: Quick FF6 question
They are World of Ruin only but three of the four can be gotten any time after getting the airship. The final one is off of the final boss of Dragon's Den. The stat bonuses are:
+2 Strength
+2 Stamina
+2 Speed
+100% HP (Dragon's Den)
Additionally, there are a few new spells attached to these espers.
Valor
Flood
Gravija (Dragon's Den)
