Castlevania (NES) (AA) Review
Re: Castlevania (NES) (AA) Review
It's annoying they don't treat it with a bit more respect, the above link was the best version I could find of it online.

Hey everyone, my first post here.
Nice review, man. Castlevania 1 is one of my favs, along with RoB and SoTN. I don't like the DS and GBA ones too, dispibe being a huge fan of SoTN and they have the same style. All the people i know disagree, but with the exception of SoTN, i like the belmont+whip much more than the others.
That cover art you posted there is also one of my favorite images in all gaming.

I really tried to like the DS and GBA ones and didn't like them at all so I have never really played SotN. Makes me wonder if I should, on the very least I like the soundtrack a lot.

Though I enjoy the GBA and DS games alright enough (and REALLY enjoy Symphony of the Night), I'm with you on the fact that the more traditional, linear style of gameplay is definitely what I vastly prefer.
