Well that explains why they released it the way they did -- didn't even bother to notice the "emulator" they used totally blew it on the sound. High pitches and screeching everywhere, and for someone who never owned a Genesis, severely disappointed all around.

But hey, Virtua Cop 2 in all its DC glory. Can also play using VC1 style-scoring. Win

Genesis 6 Pack is all 6 original games on one cartridge. Nothing modified. Mega Collection is emulation. Super Mario All-Stars remade the NES games with the Super Mario World engine, so it's not emulation. Super Mario World is an original game running on an original engine. A 6 pack of Mario games on N64 would use emulation.

Emulation is software that mimics the way the original, emulated hardware works.

The Genesis 6 Pak on Genesis is not emulation. The Sonic Mega Collection on PS2 is.

Super Mario All Stars is not emulation, it's the NES games re-done in the SMW engine.

For example, Sonic Jam on the Saturn is actually a compilation of ports, as the games were re-written for the Saturn's hardware.

What exactly are you asking here?

There is no emulation if the game is written for the console.
