He was a no nonsense, no bullshit character, which I like. Hence me being a big Batman fan. Jordon is all about showing off and having a sleazy pick up line for every female he encounters. Plus, he's too perfect. I liked flawed heroes and he just seems like one big hero cliche. Brave, good looking, and reckless, and gets all the girls....boring. I would enjoy the show a lot more if John Stewart was the main character, or maybe even that Kyle Raner guy, though I don't know much about him.

His support cast is great though. I like Kilowog, the Red Lantern guy and the ship AI (who reminds me of Edi from Mass Effect). I will watch the show just for those guys. I like the idea of the show being about the Green Lantern corps more so than I do it being about the adventures of Hal Jordon. I hope we see more Lantern characters as the show goes on, as all the ones I've seen so far are more interesting than he is, including that queen character I saw in episode five.

The animation I think works really well once you get used to it, the story telling works for me, and there's no shortage of action. Overall, I like the show and was wondering what everyone else thinks of it. I think this and Young Justice are proudly carrying the DC flag and doing a good job of it.
I know we're only 5 episodes in, and as a result it's hard for the cartoon to convey this at this point, but what you're describing Hal as as being perfect, is exactly what his flaw is. He's such a hothead that he often doesn't see the better solution because he acts first, and through his history it has bit him in the ass and made him regret a lot of things. His superficial womanizer personality has also screwed up more than a few relationships in his history, and a lot of times it's nothing more than Hal just trying keep up his reputation. I think of him as that high school guy still trying to show off for the girls, his weakness is that he tries too hard.

What I find funny about this show is that while it's a Bruce Timm show, Hal is the only one who looks like he's "drawn" in the Timm Style, everyone/thing else looks better than Hal. Maybe they'll update his computer model or something.

Otherwise, I love the show.

This seems to describe the Hal Jordan in the current Justice League comic a lot. He actually seems less mature than the Hal in the Green Lantern cartoon.

There's not much talk about the show in the western animation thread, so I thought I'd bump this one

What did you guys think of the last episode?

I'm very interested in seeing what Aya's eventual fate will be. I'd like to see her brought back to normal, but how will she deal with all the blood that's on her hands now? She's not going to take that well when she fully gets her emotions back, or so I would think. Loved the look on her face when Razor showed up. Doesn't look like she's truly devoid of emotions now after all.

Gotta hand it to Hal's girlfriend, despite all the fear she showed before the fight, I thought she handled herself better than most would have in that situation. She's a strong woman. I thought it was really funny when they just transported her from her house to another planet without warning and she's looking like she was about to sit down for breakfast or something. Who knows what else she could have been doing before Aya teleporated her

Why is it that no one can ever beat Atrocitus until his pisses them off? Every battle with him on the show goes the same way. He kicks Hal or Razor's ass for like five minutes, then they get finally get pissed and finish him off. These Atrocitus battles all seem so one sided. Why wasn't Hal doing all that awesome stuff BEFORE his friend got killed. Ah these old TV tropes, so silly. I guess it just has to go that way for dramatic purposes.

^ Best cartoon on T.V. right now (not counting reruns), IMO. It's a damn shame that it's getting cancelled.

Last week's episode was really good. But the couple before it were simply epic. This last episode felt like the show was taking a bit of a breather.

Yeah, it's just might be the best cartoon on TV like you said. I certainly feel that way after the last few episodes. I think "Loss" and "Cold Fury" are the best episodes of the entire series, and proof that this show being cancelled is a crime. I knew the show was good before those two episodes, but I still didn't expect the level of quality they presented. I think the show has just reached new highs, and the cancellation couldn't have come at a worst time. I hope they can someday follow up with a movie like Justice League's "Starcrossed"

"Babel" was pretty hilarious. I loved the alien wanting Hal's girlfriend, and it was funny how the guys kept forgetting that Razor wasn't a Green Lantern. Him throwing the manhunter head at the monster was classic

The fact that I think about this show constantly now despite not being a Green Lantern fan is a testament to how good it has become. I'm dying to see tomorrow's episode

Aya - "You tried to kill me"

Razor - "Oh shiiii..."

Aya is the poster child for that old saying about a woman scorned. If she was a human I bet she'd be a Scorpio. Anyway...

Well this episode proves the old idea that comic book characters never die, but I like that they brought the science director back. It was nice to get some back story on Aya and I find Lamo pretty funny as her ship replacement. It's cool seeing the team not functioning quite as well as they used to without Aya, makes you realize how important she was to the team.

Aya always seemed to have a strong connection to Green Lantern energy, it's cool finding out why this episode. I wonder why she never uses constructs. Is that just a ring thing?

Awesome ep, finally got to watch it. It SUCKS that there are (what I assume to be) 2 episodes left to this show. Criminal. Absolutely criminal.

Anyone catch the Black Lantern logo on one of the books in the Guardian's office?

I really don't have much to add that hasn't already been said other than chiming in that last week's episode was another, epic, action-packed episode that proves tis is the best new action-cartoon series running. And that it's crazy that the series is ending when it's doing so good right now.

I didn't. But it makes sense. She betrayed the Guardians in the comics and became the Black Lantern Guardian in the comics.

Nice ending, I like the idea that Razor, a red lantern, couldn't kill Aya because he feels no hate for her at all. Also, her sacrifice offers her some redemption, which is important. I know those star systems she went after were uninhabited, but the death of that Pink Lantern is still on her hands.

In some ways this episode paralleled and mirrored "Loss". This time Aya is holding a nearly dead Razor...then we later see her die yet again. Though obviously she's not dead, I imagine now that her "code" has been wiped from the universe her living soul could perhaps inhabit an actual organic body. The blue ring at the end is great. I always imagined Razor becoming a blue lantern....or even possibly some kind of pink one. Obviously, that would have been very awkward...but also hilarious

Symbolically, I think ending the show with the ring also shows hope for Aya.

Guy Gardner has some funny moments. He's a cool character and I liked seeing him immediately yell "cover him!" when he sees Hal. He knows that whatever Hal is doing, it's important. That was cool.

So is this really the end? Think anyone else will resurrect this show in some way? Kickstarters are really working miracles these days and putting power back into the hands of fans. For example...
