I was involved in an intense jam session with some of my buddies. After about 3hours of non-stop drumming i had torn open the flesh on my right thumb, and had a NASTY blister engulfing my middle finger.
As painful as it was to clean, and do anything with....i wrapped my hand in paper towel and trooped it out to beat my 7 year old sister at Marvel Vs Capcom 2.
ever not able to play games because of an injury?

Oh yeah
I've broken my left arm 3 times, once when I was 5, when I was 8, and when I was 12. That made playing my NES and Sega Genesis very difficult.
When I was 18 I crushed my hand in a filth wheel, tearing the tips of my fingers off. I drove tractor trailer at the time and my only pass time was reading and playing my dreamcast on my off time. It isn't like when in bum fucked America you could go out and party... nope. So that really sucked.
Then there have been plenty of minor accidents that hindered game playing, but usually for only a day or two. Thing like broken fingers, allergic reactions to fish and penicillin, large cuts on hands, smashing and bruising my hands at work... even once was trampled by a horse. Now that sucked, stuck in bed with broken ribs and I couldn't do a freakin' THING with my bruised hands for the first two days... I couldn't even curl my fingers! I just said fuck it and still went at it despite it... actually the pain in my hands helped me ignore the horrible pain in my chest.

When I was 11 years old, I cut my right index finger with a pizza cutter and the cut got infected. The next day was my birthday and I got Sonic & Knuckles for my Genesis from my parents as a gift, but I couldn't play it because my finger was so sore and swollen from the infection. I ended up getting a very painful tetanus shot, and finally after a week, my finger healed and I was finally able to play my new game.
Systems owned:
PSone, PS2, Xbox, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, Nintendo Game Boy Pocket, Sega Game Gear, NES, Atari 2600, 3DO and Atari Lynx.

I've played Street Fighter with a PS2 pad for several hours and had blistered thumbs. Sucks how playing games meant I wasn't able to play games ;D I fear I may sustain an injury to my wrist or arm in the near future, as I'm learning a martial art that's pretty heavy on joint locks and many of them are very efficient.

I also remember playing Dragonball Z Budokai (however you spell that) and I got into one of those clashes where you have to rotate the thumbstick. I was playing against my brother, so I had to win!
I can't rotate my thumb like he can, so I used my palm, and spun that thing so fast I won the fight and burnt a hole in the palm of my right hand and I couldn't use it for days.
