Well THAT took a load off my mind! Thanks for clearing that up.

They did change the grip, and put 2 extra shoulder buttons on, but I wouldn't call that changing "the grip and everything". It's quite well known that Sony were working on the SNES CD with Nintendo, codenamed the Play Station. When Nintendo backed down, Sony went it alone with a stand alone console. Surprisingly enough, they had access to the design of the SNES pad, and had designed their new CD add on with that controller in mind. When they had to go it alone, they made last minute changes and released what is baisically the same controller.

Thanks for the great memories! I freaking love the m:robe, I've always wanted to buy one, but by the time I had the money they had been discontinued. Actually now I'm considering downgrading my MP3 player just to get one! I've got a Creative Zen Vision:M 30GB right now, same price as the iPod, at least 5-10 more and better features. Really shows how much of a trend the iPod is, since now it is discontinued.

I will always use my m:robe 100...might consider getting a 500 once they get linux running good on it because then you can watch movies on it and all. I can watch movies on my 100 with rockbox installed in full RED AND BLACK. It's awful, but it's neat that it's able to do that with custom firmware. Plus I cna play Doom on it....awfully hard to see and kinda hard to control....but its just neat playing around with it. I use to love pulling it out in school when kids were playing some gay pre-installed ipod game and be like...yeah...I can play Doom suckers.

For windows users I wouldn't go for a iPod. However, if you, like myself, use Mac OS X most of the time, it doesn't make sense to have anything but an iPod, most other media players have absolutely terrible mac support. It's just worth paying for an iPod just to avoid the headache. Mac OS X does not need ANY drivers whatsoever to work with any iPod, just needs iTunes, but that's been part of OS X since the beginning.

I don't want to be faffing around jumping through hoops just to get a media player working. (I'm looking at you creative, what the hell is wrong with your mac support?). It just makes sense to go apple for everything if you use an Mac.

IF you use a m:Robe with rockbox on it....all you do is copy and paste files into the mp3 players directory...takes 2 seconds. No stupid software to deal with.
