What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Yes and even if that happens a little RoundUp now and then can take care of that vs. the staining or replacing the wood(and if you are replacing boards you should be probably sealing more often), which as you said isn't that difficult, but you shouldn't have to ever replace a block/paver. Something is seriously wrong with the product or installation if you have to do that.

I still don't get where the grout comes into play, but like I said I might of misunderstood if you didn't mean grout in the tradition sense. Like you said moisture(frost big time) is a bitch, so you need something that that will let the patio "move" with the elements, if that makes sense.

Anyways, you shouldn't ever have to replace a block properly installed unless there was something wrong with the it to begin with.

Either way I think Luke should keep the deck and put a patio around it, just because that looks like a small outdoor living space by itself for what he's working with.

I used to look forward to the day that I might get to be a moderator and help the community out. Then you created the 'former moderator' title, giving me something else to look forward to.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

If you have crappy soil, you really should look into organic lawn care by reading some of the forums out there. There are some folks who have fabulous lawns in Texas, Florida who started out with essentially sand or clay for their lawns. In a period of 4 years, their lawns were transformed. The idea of organic lawn care is to make the soil healthy enough for beneficial microbes, earthworms, and other creatures. It requires less expense & work than the traditional chemical program.

For me, a pitchfork works best.

All of a sudden an old man asking you if you could score him a bag is awesome?...

What hypocrisy is this?...
No hypocrisy at the least.

@biker: I recently aerated and laid down seed (and watered, and watered, and watered). We'll wait and see how that goes, but I do have lots of bugs and as you said an insect filled soil is a healthy soil.

I always use a snow shovel with mulch for the volume of mulch you can get with one scoop. It saves a ton of time moving the mulch from a mound to a wheelbarrow. After that I dump the load and spread. It's a very quick and efficient way to spread and get the job done quickly.

@King: We've thought about the deck/patio combo, but we prefer to have as much yard space as possible.

Smile: I'm on a redecorating roll. The theater is getting a complete face lift, new chairs and all.

Frown: I have no clue what to do with my movie collection. As of now my movies are piled on a baker's rack in my game room.

^Sorry, I'm keeping them. I have an extra copy of CLERKS Animated that I would be happy to send you though. For reals.

Smile: I bought RCA extension cables so I can hook my 360 up to the sound system in the theater room. Surround sound on almost every console is ready to go. That and Scott Pilgrim is on blu-ray for $8 at Best Buy (Expendables dvd is on sale for $5.00).

Frown: I'm still using RCA cables with my sound system.

The theater's back wall is like one long bench. I need to find some type of cushioning for it, and right now I'm stumped. There are crib mattresses on sale at Wally World for $40 a pop, and about four of them would do it, but that seems like an awful lot to spend on cushions when I already have chairs in the room, but I don't want the "bench" to go to waste.

Perhaps a smorgasbord of pillows will get the job done.

Smile: I'm taking a half day and getting some yard work done myself and while I do that I'm also smoking a pork butt for some pulled pork later.

Pork shoulder....yum.

Smoked pork shoulder...even yummier.

Using hickory chunks?

If you like vinegar based bbq sauces, I'd be happy to share a great recipe.

You should really consider taking him up on this Boring. It's a pretty funny cartoon, wish it would've had more than 6 episodes.
