I know that but a pvp area would be nice because I'm sure it would get rid of a ton of this cheap invasions I'm getting lately.MrPopo wrote:The whole point of the invasion system is for there to be one more way for you to get screwed over.flex wood wrote:I'm sick of getting invaded by cowards in sens fortress that run and hide from me. No it wouldn't. The griefers do it to feed on your tears; they won't touch the new pvp area.flex wood wrote:I know that but a pvp area would be nice because I'm sure it would get rid of a ton of this cheap invasions I'm getting lately.MrPopo wrote:The whole point of the invasion system is for there to be one more way for you to get screwed over.flex wood wrote:I'm sick of getting invaded by cowards in sens fortress that run and hide from me. I can personally attest to this.MrPopo wrote:No it wouldn't. The griefers do it to feed on your tears; they won't touch the new pvp area.

I want to grief I really do I'm a huge asshole IRL. I just have never figured out how to do it in this game. I need a wiki for assholes.brunoafh wrote:I can personally attest to this.MrPopo wrote:No it wouldn't. The griefers do it to feed on your tears; they won't touch the new pvp area.
Edit never figured out how to do it well. Beside getting people hurt by traps.

So it sounds about 50/50 on whether to get this for PC or console.

I'm reserving final judgement until the game is out and people have fully explored it and compared it to the console version. The GFWL thing makes it kind of a disappointment right out of the gate, but when it's all said and done whether or not the new content is any good will be my deciding factor. The fact that it looks like From is indeed very much involved in the development of this has relived a lot of my apprehension though.
I'm already waist deep in the PS3 version so I don't really like the idea of having two different versions of the game to work on, that's another thing keeping me from getting too excited.

No mod support, might be released on consoles via DLC or retail.

Diablo II didn't have mod support either. That didn't stop people from modding it to hell and back.brunoafh wrote:No mod support, might be released on consoles via DLC or retail.

Yeah, I wasn't really sure what exactly Mizayaki meant by that, maybe he just meant no official support and people will have to do further tinkering to mod it? Seems like it would be very difficult to mod Dark Souls without a toolkit.

I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

"From Software "having a tough time" porting Dark Souls to PC, frame rate issues remain"

"To be completely honest, we're having a tough time doing it due to our lack of experience and knowledge in terms of porting to PC. First we thought it would be a breeze, but it's turned out not to be the case. We're still developing right now - we're crunching right now.
"In Japan there's not much of a PC market and we haven't really taken into consideration that audience before. That's one of the reasons why we haven't been able to step up on the PC platform until now."
Uchiyama went on to confirm that it hasn't fixed the frame rate problems that had hobbled certain parts of the game on consoles.
"In terms of the frame rate for say, Blighttown, From Software sincerely apologises for that happening [in the console version]," he said.
"In terms of the PC version, the quick answer is no, [we won't be fixing the frame rate problems]. Because we wanted to get the PC version out as soon as possible, it's more strictly a port from the console version. We haven't been able to step up into doing any specific optimisation for PC.
