Reasons for buying a Super Famicom?
Hey all, I'm starting to think about getting into the Super Famicom games, but am having some difficulty justifying the high cost of shipping/price of console itself and the games. As a collector/player, I want to buy a console CIB, which seems to be running 80$ for the system and 80$ shipping. Is this a lot? It seems so, but I don't mind paying if the game selection (namely RPGs) will be worth it. That's also my second concern - what are some quality games for the SuperFam that I should be looking at? I know Terranigma is widely regarded as an awesome RPG, as well as Secret of Mana 2. Any ideas/feedback would be appreciated!

Most SFC games don't have true regional lockout, so if you remove the 2 plastic tabs on either side of the cartridge slot, you can play them on your SNES.

As other people have said, you can easily play Super Famicom games on a North American SNES. This is what I do, as I haven't been able to justify the cost of an actual Super Famicom (at least not yet). If you want to own a Super Famicom for collecting purposes, then by all means, buy one! They are pretty.

Yes, they are slick-looking machines. I lucked out and got mine from a guy my one buddy knew for $100. Came with 30+games, and 2 controllers; not in the greatest shape, but works superbly.BoneSnapDeez wrote:As other people have said, you can easily play Super Famicom games on a North American SNES.
