haha yeah I added myself cuz I thought it was mj's thread so I pm'd him and said "add me to OP" and then was like "wait I can just do it myself" but then realized later it was yr thread. Hope you don't mind.

Well, the thread over at shmups is filled with far more information that I could offer. I'll just make some bullet points.

Keep in mind that just about everything you do in this game increases your rank. While not as ruthless as Garegga, Soukyugurentai is vicious enough that I usually put survivability before score. Generally I end up with a higher score overall in the end.

-Holding on to 6 bombs or more increases your multiplier
-Locking onto as many enemies as possible at once nets you more points
-Killing 100% of the enemies in the stage will grant you a bonus (it jacks the rank way up)
-As in Layersection/Galactic Attack/Gunloc/Ray Force, you can milk bosses by destroying them piece-by-piece
-Increasing the rank on purpose generates more enemies and more chances for score
