Mega Man X series post MMX3- Are they worth playing?
Re: Mega Man X series post MMX3- Are they worth playing?
I don't even like to compare Megaman & Bass to MM7-MM8, it's infinitely better in my book.

Mega Man and Bass is imo one of the more difficult games in the series especially if you play as Megaman. I found it kind of strange that they reused Tenguman and Astroman as two of the robot masters. At least the weapon you get from them are different.

They were the best RMs from 8; anything remotely good about that game was salvaged for MM&B.

Hopefully the gameplay holds up...

If it doesn't, they might release a demo of what was completed. I'd rather have a fun demo than a blargh full game.

I'm with you on that. Plus this is probably the closest we will get to a Mega man X9. Hopefully if a demo is completed it will get released and not cancelled (MML3).GameMasterGuy wrote:If it doesn't, they might release a demo of what was completed. X9? If that were true, it would be mediocre. This is the closest thing we'll ever get to a true X6!

I haven't played Zero 4 yet, but I have played the other three and I agree with what is written earlier in the thread. Great games!
The first has the trickiest ranking system and probably the most difficult all in all, Zero 2 has the hardest Cyber-Elves (if you want to collect them all), but I think that Zero 3 has the toughest bosses, and the toughest final level (maybe 4 is harder).
I wouldn't say any of them are hard if you don't care about ranking you can take a LOT of damage and use Sub-Tanks and Cyber-Elves to make it through even if you don't dodge all the time. So the games are accessible.
Getting S ranks and particularly 100 points (or even more difficult, not getting hit at all) is pretty tough and a nice challenge for those that find the games easy otherwise - and there is also Hard mode and other unlocks for limiting your use of the weapons etc.
So I think that it is very much a great series that players of different skill levels can appreciate.
Ivo.
