I'm looking for some RPGs. I really ahve never been all that into them. One of my problems is that I'm not a huge fan of turn based combat. Now that it is getting more mainstream to have real time combat in RPGs, I'm thinking that it will be easier for me to get into.
I'm currently sticking to the consoles I own, but I will take suggestions from other systems. I own a Gamecube w/ Gameboy player, and an Xbox 360. I have a decent PC, but don't expect me to play Witcher or anything like that on it. (The only reason I listed is because they aren't currently in my signature.)
So, yeah. I'm interested in the Mass Effect series, and keeping an open find for anything else.
EDIT: Don't mention Bethesda RPGs. I have problems with the darkness factor of Fallout, and, as much as I would profess love for it, The Elder Scrolls series really does not keep me going. I love it for about a month, then can't stand it. I have a CE of Skyrim giving me a guilt look as I type.
Any suggestions?

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.
Re: Any suggestions?
Xbox360 will get The Witcher 2 next week. If your computer can't handle it, just get that version and enjoy one of the great RPGs with an action-based combat system.

Yes, I had thought about that. I just wanted to point out that my computer is by no means amazing. Also, I'll be waiting until the price drops.J T wrote:Xbox360 will get The Witcher 2 next week. Sword of Mana if the first Mana game, right? That comes before Secret of Mana?TEKTORO wrote:These are some cool games,

I knew the GC wasn't exactly a treasure trove, but I'll look into those.

Yes, very much so. Also Secret and Legend of Manas. The Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance games are decent hack n' slashes with RPG elements. Landstalker for Gen is very Zelda-esque; also the Oasis games.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Check out Tales of Symphonia on GameCube. Phenomenal game with fast, fun combat.
Beyond Oasis - Gen.

Baldurs gate 1&2. Diablo 1&2 and Torchlight on the more action-orientated side. Is Planescape: Torment turn based? I havent had time to play it but I keep hearing that its one of the best PC and RPG games ever so you might want to try that one out if it doesnt have turn based combat.

How is fallouts combat real time? You have limited action points.Forlorn Drifter wrote:EDIT: Don't mention Bethesda RPGs. I have problems with the darkness factor of Fallout.
