A lot of music is right out of Mega Man 2. The select screen (which contains more than the game, but we can't talk about that just yet) and power-up screen contain the exact same tunes played in MM2, and we also spotted some enemies taken right out of the archives. The charging Mega Buster introduced in MM4 is missing (at least initially) but Rush is available from the start - as Rush Coil, naturally. Sliding was also MIA, though we did see small tunnels suspiciously similar to those accessed by the slide move.
Wow...First off, I'm displeased that ANY music from 1-6 is being reused. I always gave Capcom a lot of credit in their soundtracks to those 6 games. Not only were each and every one of them fucking GREAT! but also, none of the material was ever used a 2nd time. Ever. Period. I was so impressed by that. It was always a great defense to the argument people often had about how Capcom was milking the series. I never thought so. I figured that as long as each game offered nothing but new stages, bosses, weapons, and music, thats not milking. Super Hyper Street Fighter 2 Turbo Championship Edition Matching Service is milking.

2nd, you cant remove the mega buster and sliding. You just cant. They had better be unlockable functions within the first couple stages, maybe hidden in Dr Light capsules or some shit like MMX. You just cant drop them. I know MM2 had neither, and yes MM2 is great, but it would have been flawless if it had them. (Along with some mechanics that encouraged the use of them, and increased difficulty.)
Oh come on, they were totally milking the series. It was the same gameplay from game to game for SIX games which is an absurd number to not have any significant changes in a series. If that's not milking I don't know what is. It wasn't until MM X that things really changed with the armor upgrades, wall jumps, and a cosmetic make over and even those weren't drastic changes.

Of course, I've played all the MM games and they were all fun but at some point it was like I really couldn't tell one from the other anymore. The MM X series fared better with lots of new stuff in MM X 3, major changes in the fourth installment and a very ambitious story in the fifth one. It was downhill from there.

Capcom was KING of milking games. I think the only reason we don't see them milking things so much now is because it takes more to make a game now and the industry is much less tolerant of constant rehashes, with the exception of sports games for some reason

I gave reasons why MM1-6 were not milked. You did not. Try harder.

I already saw the NP, but I'm waiting to see some bigger screenshots or video of the thing...

Cool, well so far, I noticed only original music, which is good. I also noticed zero sprite flicker, which suggests it wont be a true NES ROM, but instead be using a new engine with NES sprites. Man I wish this wasn't a Wii exclusive...

I heard something about it possibly going to other systems if it sells well, and considering this IS Capcom we're talking about, you can bet your balls they'll do it if they can edge out some more sales.

Thought someone might find this interesting. Written by Jeremy Parish. He writes for 1UP, but his most interesting stuff is now going up on a personal page/webzine. Be forewarned that it's the deeper kind of game writing that some hardcore people don't like, but personally I love.

This video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YIis8GbgwM sold this for me.
$10 for a Megaman game seems fair, especially if it is as hard as some of the other NES ones.
